Today let's learn a new word, sarcophagus!

Hi and welcome to Let’s Word Up! Each day we post a word of the day to help you improve your English language skills.

Today’s word of the day is sarcophagus.

Nouns are words that we use to name things. It can be a person, a place, a thing, an
idea or concept. Therefore, sarcophagus is a noun.

A sarcophagus is a stone coffin that is typically adorned with a sculpture or inscriptions. Historically they were commonly used in the ancient civilisations of Egypt, Greece and Rome. 

An example of the word sarcophagus used in a sentence would be:

The sarcophagus was covered in warnings of a curse that would be released if it was ever opened.

Or, Many interesting collections could be found in the museum, but the my favourite is definitely Sasobek's sarcophagus.

It’s a sound for those who wear rebellion as armor and use music as a spell to stay free.
