Vilify is a doing word therefore it is a verb.

To vilify is to speak or write about someone or something in an extremely negative way.

An example of the word vilify used in a sentence would be:

He planned to vilify her to get people on her side but no one believed his lies.

Or, The purpose of the article was to vilify the people of the town.

Synonyms: disparage, berate, insult, denigrate, condemn.

Antonyms: commend, adore, honour, exalt, praise.
