For the 8th Drone Day, on the 29th May 2021, Transience invited a couple of past guests, Ligovskoï and Valentino Mora, and close comrade and drone aficionado, Paul Josef, to share the joy of droning. Transience host, Lou Drago, and guests Valentino Mora and Paul Josef all took the opportunity to play their first live sets on this occasion. The guests were already familiar with Transience’s aim of offering relief from neoliberal anxieties, and this desire is reflected in their musical outputs – on this night and in general. We hope you enjoy the journey through the four soundscapes and the story they collectively weave. The sets have been uploaded individually, but in the order they were presented on the night. We highly recommend listening on headphones or good speakers from a horizontal-ish position.

Our next atist is a multidisciplinary project created recently by the evolution of different artistic and exploratory stages. This project has developed different facets, including a career as an interpreter and sound designer when experimenting with a wide variety of musical sequences and soundscapes.

It seeks the integration of oscillating interpersonal ideas among the variety of solid conceptions. This project also defines the transformation of the artist that has developed under different aliases for many years.

Each interpretation is made to create an atmosphere based on sound art, generative art and Techno in its different variations.

Born and raised in the Loire valley, a tiny piece of heaven near Nantes, Oreste has always been surrounded by trees, old castles and ruins. This calm and pastoral surrounding remains an endless source of inspiration for this 24-year-old ambient producer.

Oreste is carrying out a project in connection with his environment. His sound compositions reveal a vast universe, like a firmament of ethereal layers under which a variety of organic and watery textures swarm, a world sometimes crossed by a fog of disturbing strangeness.
Deeply inspired by the fantastic musical ambient music microcosms, his desire to contribute to it shapes his ethereal sound and aesthetic.
After working in the shadow for a while he begins to make his path slowly in the electronic ambient world, and being released by several labels such as Lett Records, On board, Multipass records, and more soon. Lately, found his own one « Emerald Garden Records » with a first surprising physical release.

Welcome for a new Lett Records Podcast with this week my guest: Szentendre.

Szentendre discovered in early 2000 his real passion for Electronic music next to his passion for nature & landscapes. It started with small gigs in and around Dresden, Germany. 
As musical roots he refers to the warm string & chord -heavy sounds of Detroit early and mid-90s, he remains true to this day, not without attention to other directions in the Electronic field such as Electro to lose. The somewhat complicated sounding stage name he derived from a small Hungarian town because he harbors a great affinity for this area.

The biggest, most badass love goes out to Sam KDC who has gifted us with an absolutely astounding podcast (#064) ahead of his On the 5th Day appearance at Corsica Studios on September 1st. If you’ve been an avid collector of game-changing, quality techno and experimental over recent years then you’ll most likely know the score. Sam KDC (aka Samuel Wood) is a devoted boundary pusher within the electronic music field, producing since 2002 and making his own solid and hugely significant mark during the years that followed. Working closely alongside fellow musician ASC (James Clements), Sam KDC played a critical role in shaping the revolutionary vision of ASC’s Auxiliary label, contributing a multitude of releases along the way, helping to ensure it became the go to for deep, “outside the box” techno that it is today. He and ASC are also the pioneers behind the unique style that inspired Grey Area, a label collaboration between Samurai and Auxiliary, uniting 128 bpm with 170/85 bpm in a seamless, polyrhythmic, big impact manner.

As demonstrated herewith, Sam KDC’s mind-bending approach to techno and experimental, and the characteristics and complexities of his style - with its multiple BPMs and dynamic, shifting hearty pulse - culminate in an almighty rhythmic hurricane fuelled by a strong emotional power, sweeping you through mountainous peaks and caverns before releasing you in a breathless heap on the floor! His meticulously controlled sets, vibrating with depth and tension make it impossible to turn your attention elsewhere… and the good news is there’s plenty more where this came from when Sam is united with Corsica’s better than ever almighty sound system on September 1st.
