This song was written about how everyone can make mistakes sometimes, but you should try and move forward instead of holding on. Sometimes good things can come from situations we least expect. We use the famous saying 'Swings and Roundabouts' in the chorus to reflect this. "What you lose on the swings you make up for on the roundabouts"

Signals is in all sense a love song. When you have just met someone or are in a relationship with someone and perhaps one person is playing games and the other is reading the signals wrong.
