On 25th of May at around 2 PM, elements of NFA 2nd Mechanized Recon Battalion encountered a coordinated ambush by BSM insurgents approximately 3 kilometers west of Molotiv’s city limits.

D'autres éléments de la Waffen-SS française combattent le 29 avril contre les Américains en Bavière. Une douzaine de recrues, issues pour la plupart de la Charlemagne, se rendent aux troupes américaines qui les livrent le 6 mai à la 2e division blindée du général Leclerc, qui vient de prendre ses quartiers à Bad Reichenhall. Les prisonniers sont brièvement interrogés par Leclerc lui-même. Le lendemain, ou le surlendemain, ils sont fusillés sans jugement et sans que les autorités du GPRF, informées de leur capture, aient été tenues au courant de cette décision. La responsabilité de Leclerc dans cette exécution sommaire a été évoquée, sans qu'il soit possible de déterminer avec certitude si la décision a été prise par le chef de la 2e DB en personne, ou bien par l'un de ses officiers. Les corps sont abandonnés sur place par les Français, et enterrés plus tard à la hâte par les Américains. Seuls cinq des prisonniers exécutés ont été identifiés avec certitude

The Rapid Response Group "Letuchaya Mysh" (Flying Bat) was formed during the chaotic insurgency phase between 2003 and 2005. Initially a loosely-organized counter-sabotage group operating in Bryansk forests, it evolved into a semi-autonomous quick reaction force answering directly to the BNR Military Council. Specializing in raids, night operations, and deep reconnaissance, "Letuchaya Mysh" earned a reputation as a highly mobile, unpredictable unit capable of striking behind enemy lines and then vanishing before retaliation.

In 2005, during the early months of the offensive, "Letuchaya Mysh" conducted the Operation Black Needle behind Novyrusian lines. In a daring raid, they attacked an NFA logistical hub near the town of Krasnaya Gora, destroying fuel depots and ambushing a retreating convoy. The raid paralyzed local NFA movements for nearly two weeks, allowing BNR forces to solidify gains elsewhere.
