The discrimination of natives only make us worse. We grew up with low self esteem due to the alcohol and drug abuse. That had a major impact on the younger generation. To often we fall to addiction and depression and sadly, suicide. I myself had very low points. My uncle Gabriel, and a few other friends in the community and surrounding communities have had horrible experiences with deaths by suicide. We need change. Personally, I felt no need to change when others only saw a pot head and a drunk, no matter how hard I tried to change. I've come to realize that it's not just me that needs change, its our whole states youth and beyond. It's okay to live with addictions if you're responsible, and you have self respect. We can change the whole perspective of natives in the village and on the city streets, it only takes cooperation. Ive been known as a weed addict and a bad role model to my peers, some of my friends are even scared to be seen by their parents with me.
