We welcome Brenden Dowden a.k.a Dowden for the seventy-fourth edition of the 'Deep In Mix' series. 

Dowden hails from Toronto, Canada, and is based in Berlin, Germany. Having gained early experience in several bands as both a guitarist and vocalist during his formative years, his musical trajectory took a decisive turn upon his discovery of electronic sounds fifteen years ago. Since then, he has traversed through a multitude of genres until finding his true calling in Progressive House.

In 2022, Dowden established himself as one of the highest-selling Progressive House artists in the Top 100 on Beatport. With constant support from radio and club circuits and a string of chart-topping releases, Dowden swiftly ascended to become a staple name in Deep Progressive House. Dowden's significant influence on the Deep Progressive Music scene extends beyond his chart successes. His passionate followers on his YouTube channel, where he shares insightful tutorials on music production, have further solidified his status as a guiding light for aspiring producers. Through his educational content, Dowden has cultivated a devoted fan base, eager to learn from his expertise and engage with his music on a deeper level. Brenden's musical palette gravitates towards the depths of Deep Progressive House, Organic House, and Deep House, where he masterfully weaves intricate sonic tapestries that gradually elevate the energy levels, creating an immersive journey for his listeners. 

He has released on labels such as The Soundgarden, Sudbeat, Mango Alley, Hoomidaas, Juicebox Music, Meanwhile, Univack, Steyoyoke, and Sound Avenue. Brenden's musical influences, notably Guy J and Jeremy Olander, have shaped his artistic vision, with their unreleased works serving as a wellspring of inspiration for his creative endeavours. Drawing from their innovative approaches to music production and label ownership, Brenden aspires to leave a lasting impact on the Progressive House genre, much like his esteemed mentors. Having graced the decks of renowned venues such as On Heaven in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, and M7 in Barcelona, Spain, Brenden's performances have left an indelible mark on audiences worldwide. Shaped by a founding set of musical beliefs and an unquestioning faith in the deep, melodic & progressive sound he creates, Amháin is able to transport listeners on a voyage of discovery enveloped in atmosphere and energy. Adapting and evolving, unencumbered by convention or expectation, Amháin is the epitome of innovation, flair and dedication in the continuously shifting world of modern electronic music.

Performances at some of the leading global festivals are testament to this success as Burning Man, Lightning in a Bottle and Rainbow Serpent have all witnessed Amháin’s immaculately crafted sets. Able to translate those skills to the more intimate club environment, Berlin’s Sisyphos and Los Angeles’ Pattern Bar are also prominent names on a polished resumé.

A nascent production career is equally notable with a growing portfolio of high-class production material. Making his commercial debut in March 2020, with the Melodic Techno gem, “Antecedent” as part of Sound Avenue’s “Correlation” series, remixes for onedotsixtwo and recent signing to the Iconic Melbourne based Vapour Recordings lit up the latter part of 2022.

Christina Gavrilova, aka Forty Cats, has made a significant impact on the global progressive house scene. She has been making music for 13 years, and DJing for 15. Christina’s first milestone came with the "Highway" debut EP on Lane 8's This Never Happened label in 2019. Two years later, Forty Cats made a dramatic shift in her sound direction. She has since released on progressive house labels like Sudbeat, Mango Alley, Soundgarden, and PlattenBank ,while gaining support from industry legends such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J, D-Nox, Lane 8, Dowden, and Above & Beyond. For April 2024, Forty Cats will start her own label – PURRFECTION – and has already collaborated with artists such as KYOTTO, Ricky Ryan, EANP and others. 

Forty Cats tours globally, and has performed in Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, Armenia, and Argentina. Christina continues to captivate her audience with new releases, compilations, and DJ sets, maintaining a strong presence in the progressive house and techno scene.
