Levolent showcases the weird, wonderful, heavy, dark and outright filthy aspects of bass music. It brings together 2 very like minded individuals with diverse backgrounds deeply ingrained in the drum and bass & dubsteps scenes in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Together Levolent have supported the likes of Concord Dawn, Truth, Bulletproof, Sick Cycle, Octo Pi and more let alone countless local events with a heavy tune selection.
This has seen music being released locally and internationally alongside some local legends but now brings in a new chapter with a new sound.

Levolent is made up of Cyrax (Bass Invaders) & Aphotic/Evil Intel from SUB-STANCE.

It's easy to say Levolent finds it's inspiration from all corners of the music world including outside of electronic music. Think of Korn, Alice & Chains, Deftones, Pennywise or even easier cutting a long list short by saying, metal, hip hop, punk, rock and everything in between. However you couldn't go past the likes of Noisia, Black Sun Empire, Phace, Truth, Kryptic Minds, Andy C, Dillinja, Calibre, Skream, Mala, Mefjus, Camo & Krooked, Bad Company, D Bridge, Marcus Intalex, Ed Rush & Optical, Audio, Biome, Gantz, ok ok we think you get the idea.

MCNILLA is Drum and Bass DJ originally from Ireland that moved Christchurch New Zealand in late 2015. He previously had never heard of the genre but began going to local gigs and quickly fell in love with not just the music but also the culture and people that surround it.

MCNILLA appreciates all flavors of Drum and Bass equally but takes pride in high energy and euphoric selections.

Prior to his baptism of bass, skOpus was initially influenced by the grit and noise of metal/punk music until he was exposed to the likes of Noisia, Concord Dawn and Break - thus enforcing his transition and passion for all things bass orientated. 

Fast forward 10 years, he has now covered multiple continents with his signature sound and cross-genre mixing style, which has seen him perform at legendary festivals Outlook, Let It Roll and New Zealands own Twisted Frequency. 

Always the maverick, he is not fond of conforming to the norm - and his music backs this philosophy. Ranging from minimal to neurofunk and everything in-between, his sound rides the experimental waves of audio in a unique and original way. With signs to labels such as DLT9, Drum Army, FUCKABOUTDNB and Beatspectrum, it will always be EXPRESSION > CONFORMITY.

PROLIX

Prolix will be a familiar name to most hardened Drum and Bass heads, with a back catalogue that has seen releases on some of the most prolific and respected labels in the industry such as RAM, Playaz & Ganja Tek, VISION, Blackout, Renegade Hardware, Metalheadz, Viper, Virus, OWSLA/MTA and most recently signing exclusively to Shogun Audio. His unique style of production has achieved international recognition filling Prolix with the courage he needed to establish his own imprint in 2011; cue the birth of the mighty Trendkill Records. 

As his reputation has grown, Prolix has found himself collaborating with an array of top artists from across the genre such as Noisia, Misanthrop, and Icicle, as well as remixing the likes of Chase and Status, Ed Rush and Optical, and Black Sun Empire. 
It was with his work for Chase and Status that led to an introduction to d&b pioneer DJ Hype which began the conception of Ganja Tek for the sole purpose of releasing his distinct sound. Since then, Prolix' production has gone from strength to strength, securing radio support from several BBC radio DJs including Friction and Mary Ann Hobbs. 

One of his most seminal releases to date was the visionary crowd funded 'Project Trendkill' Album, a collaboration with Gridlok  which soared to the top of the download charts and into every self respecting DJ’s record bags the world over. Teaming up with Gridlok had previously come up trumps again, drawing the attention of RAM Records head honcho Andy C, with their debut 12" of 'Membrane' and 'Babylon' devastating soundsystems worldwide. 

Other landmark releases for Prolix include 'Crater' on Renegade Hardware with Nocturnal, 'Asteroids' on VISION with NOISIA, 'On Like That' EP with MC Coppa, and the 'Transcendent' EP on Trendkill featuring collabs with Misanthrop, Mob Tactics, Rido, Meth and MC Coppa again. 


Having toured America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, Prolix is well known for his high energy, floor-filling DJ sets. As well as doing his own headline shows accross Europe, he has also shared the stage with some of the top names in drum and bass including Chase and Status, Subfocus, and Pendulum. 

With Trendkill continuing to gather a strong and dedicated following release after release, and since having signed to Shogun and releasing his smash debut single 'Nature of Rality', Prolix is on track to becomming one of the biggest artists in the scene.
