Conrad Van Orton debuts on Attic Music for the 15th installment of label. 'Hypersomnia' is a collection of haunting techno tracks that sit on the darker side of the genre's spectrum without loosing it's dance floor appeal. 
The 4 track spanning record opens up with the title track ''Hypersomnia'' though techno sounds that revolve around a train-like whistle that repeats throughout the track's poignantbuild. ''Green Eyes'' is an intrusive piece of work that closes down the A-side with it's intense synth works.
On the B side we find ''Iteration''. This growling piece of music has an almost live sounding quality to it. ''Ending Point'' is the toughest piece of work of the record which revolves around a fierce bass sound and a potent drum work.

For her third installment, Rabe delivers 2 original tracks with her indistinguishable haunting sound, driven by martial rhythmic structures in opposition to the fluid, evolving soundscapes that balance her music.

Equally thought out was the inclusion of remixes by Nur Jaber and Orphx whose rework of ‘Lucy’s Dream’ seamlessly incorporate that eerie undertone, a constant in Rabe’s work, that seems to lure the listener thru the haze that separates reality and the dream states.

Stroboscopic Artefacts returns with another strong addition to its Totem series, a unique set of releases pressed on transparent 10” vinyl, capturing the essence and effusiveness of multidimensionality of club culture. Bridging the gap between the worlds of sound and material objects, Totem is a series that aims to meld the artistic resonance of each forthcoming release into an emblematic representation of the sounds that are to be presented, clearly within the grooves seen and heard on the 10”. Stepping up for the third release in the series is Berlin legend Efdemin — bringing a three-track journey that is unequivocally enduring and flexible for journeys on-and-off the dancefloor.

While each track shares the same title, the textures and traits are different — with the A1, “Circles” setting things up with pertinent percussion and staccato synth lines; as Efdemin sways towards another side with “Left” — a heady, hedonistic thumper with exuberant melodic bursts; followed by a therapeutic sequel with “Right” — closing out the release with a melange of spacious efficacy, something the Berlin-based producer has been known for throughout his near-two-decade career. Between releasing for the likes of Ostgut Ton, Curle, Dial, and his own imprint Naïf; Efdemin takes on the challenge of Totem’s conceptual subjugation and subverts it with his emotionally honest take on a stimulating and subdural sonic experience within three parts. Narratively dense and expertly-paced, the Totem series carries on with another outer-worldly insertion to its catalog.

Having released two albums on Soma and another one PoleGroup, Lewis Fautzi is no stranger to the long player format. Launching Faut Section in 2013, 'Insanity Department' is the label's debut album and follows an illustrious few years for Fautzi who's appeared on the likes of Bpitch, Warm Up and Figure, mixed PoleGroup's sixth volume of 'Unknown Landscapes', not to mention DJed at venues like Berghain, Gare Porto, Tresor and Lux Fragil to name a few.

Opening with the subterranean 'Insane', the album is a distinct blend of atmospheric textures and bold melodies forming seven refined tracks not geared for peaktime techno sets. Tracks like 'Conspiracy' feature a stuttering beat and echoing notes whilst the intricate pitter-patter qualities of 'Physicians' generate a mesmerising aesthetic from start to finish.

Downtempo cuts like 'Determination Of Insanity' steadily march forward whilst cavernous synths pulsate throughout, leading into the ominous 'Wounds Of Deadly Hate' with its twisted drums and soaring synths. Nearing the end, 'The Science Behind' is driven by murky pads and piercing chords until 'Obscenity' concludes the album with syncopated kicks and uplifting arrangements.

@koryu_budo is back on wax again with a very special release. It means a great pleasure for the label to have one of the pivotal figures of the Madrid underground techno scene on board, Herr @unkle-fon.

Some years ago, Madrid club scene was formed by conventional clubs in conventional locations with conventional opening and closing times and usually, conventional programming. Manuel Cano then founded Utopía Secret Society and things changed forever for the city’s underground nightlife.

Now as you may have noticed there is no club scene at all, neither conventional nor illegal, sign of the times.

Musically speaking, Manuel started as a guitarist and soon evolved into studio engineer, label owner, club promoter, record shop owner (Ater Cosmo), social agitator… and adventurous character that reflects in his productions all his knowledge of the dancefloor.

"Jisatsu" is a slow-paced broken beat surrounded with smooth textures, soon joined by a repetitive synth line that adds the hypnotic component.

"Genroku Ako" follows with a cosmic approach, continuous percussive and synthetic lines run together on a fast BPM exercise obsessive, linear and mental.

On the flip side, "47 Ronin" uses dreamy stabs over a relentless groove mixing liquidity with tension.

Closing the release "Shuppatsu" is an almost beatless exercise, just with 909 rimshots, toms and snares spiced with ethereal components.

A timeless futuristic release that can wait on your record bag until things go in better directions.
