Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community 
Hmm, I would say be inspired by and connect with other people, nature, life , parties or whatever gets you going, exploring different avenues, but always be true to your own individual sound. The more you make, the more you dance, and the more you mix your sound will find you. Do what makes you happy, practice, dig for your life, and if you work hard enough your time will come bbz. Take time to have fun with your friends ! Coz at the end of the day, that’s all that is really guaranteed in this fickle industry, without selling your soul of course ! And ask yourself, is this for love or money? Money ofc can bring happiness and stability, but shared experiences are worth more. Learn to really love yourself and put your mental health first.

❁ Something else I would like to highlight is HEARING PROTECTION! ! ! ! !  
I absolutely recommend getting moulded hearing protection coz the club is sometimes just too damn loud. Let’s make the most of life and what we have, and if you’re blessed with hearing I suggest you cherish it and look after it. You can get cute funky colours and they will become a cute raving accessory. Its also way easier to hear your friends in the club and you won’t need to shout. It means you can enjoy the subs and be closer to the speakers safely. I have a dear friend who is suffering currently and it affects a lot more than just your precious ears lemme tell you.  This doesn’t just apply to DJs, anyone working in a club, or raving. PLEASE !  Theres something in London, the Musicians’ Hearing Health Scheme, which some people are lucky enough to benefit from, give it a go, its mega discounted, but even if it isn’t.. Treat yourself. EDIT: After current events unfolding in Palestine, the Israeli born founders of HÖR Berlin have admitted to censoring Palestinian messaging on their channel as they said they had concerns of it being "offensive". Artists have requested their sets be removed from Youtube as an act of solidarity. I have also asked to have mine removed as I stand with Palestine and don't agree with censoring artists who speak out against genocide.

At our latest event in Peckham, the one and only @roni_nza laid down a dynamic, heavy-hitting mix full of percussive goodness. From grooving basslines to hypnotic vocals, here is the full set complete with crowd noise.

Alongside the mix, we got the chance to ask the Parisian-Malaysian DJ about her influences and current outlook on the scene. Pushing up and coming talent is at the forefront of her approach running @nehzarecords and we can’t wait to see where her and the label go from here...

Meridian: There seems to be a UK influence in your sound, how did your attraction to the UK scene originate?
RONI: I visited London when I was 14 and fell in love with the music, the energy and the British accent. I discovered Garage, 2 step and some other styles. At that time, my dad introduced me to Gilles Peterson's show and I would listen every week. When I turned 18, I would book a train ticket if it was affordable and spend the whole day in London digging for music. So yeah, there’s definitely a huge UK influence for me.

Meridian: Which upcoming artist are you most excited about at the moment and why?
Mabel who just released on my record label Nehza Records. She is so young but all the tracks she writes are bombs! Also CRRDR, I love his energy and involvement in the Columbian scene. The French scene is also extremely rich, so many more deserve attention.

Meridian: What does up and coming mean to you?
Unfortunately, the industry is very much about ‘ticket seller’, but what I’m interested in is discovery. To me the best party is when I don’t know the person who’s playing and take a slap in the face musically. That’s the reason why I love pushing artists that are unknown and deserve success. I would love to create a night where we only book upcoming or unknown artists around this idea of discovery.
