brings a darker hue to their already distinctive dreamy, surf pop. Emyr is fastly developing to be one of the bravest and singular new creative voices from Wales.

With the first note you hear from Phalcons you realise that they could not have formed in any other part of the world apart from North Wales. They possess its rugged, yet magically mysterious mountains and rippling rivers in their very being and in every sound they create.

Already veterans from previous bands of the flourishing psychedelic pop/folk scene, that is synonymous with the area, Phalcons’ four members offer something familiar, yet challengingly new. They take influences from an array of diverse artists, from Chris Cohen and Courtney Barnett to Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

Phalcon's dreamy and emotionally pure sound can be found distilled perfectly into their debut single, ‘Idle Ways‘. Even when writing about our darker instincts and fragmented dreams Phalcons songs find beauty in the rubble love leaves behind.
 
'Idle Ways' is love found, love lost and love squandered through drifting emotions and distance, both physical and imagined. The song starts with the rush and excitement of sleepless neon nights and hazy glimpses through nocturnal living 'I try to see you through the smoke in the crowd'. This new found love eventually succumbs to the authors 'idle ways' before he pleads. "Get up wash away the haze, get out and embrace the day". The song leaves you with a sense of a new start, a new turning, a new sound to enthral and captivate out hearts through the sadness.

Phalcons - Idle Ways

Living between Sydney and LA, Australian artist AViVA is creating her new image and developing the world for her new single GRRRLS on 13th October 2017. This is the first single to introduce us to her conceptual approach to music.
Australian independent recording artist AViVA is marking her re-entry into the scene with new single GRRRLS arriving on Friday the 13th of October 2017. This release marks AViVA’s first release in 2 years and is a clean break away from the sound and image she had previously been creating. Within this musical shift some elements have remained the same- her distinctive vocals and the visceral and dynamic drums. This single produced by MataisC and Jean-Paul Fung (Silverchair, Last Dinosaurs) and mastered by Matt Colton (Muse, Coldplay). GRRRLS is a nod to Riot Grrrls everywhere.
Following the release of Crystaleyes in 2015, AViVA spent the next 24 months performing around Australia’s East Coast and playing at summer festivals until she retreated to write new music. This time, spent between LA and Australia, Aviva experimented with new sounds and styles drawing inspiration from all forms of art to create the new unique sound and imagery, seen with the release of GRRRLS.
This new single develops in a deeper way AViVA’s thematic interest in the dichotomy of control and although full of attitude, GRRRLS is actually a reflection on the journey to find your place in
 
the world. Her fearless approach to lyric writing and fusion of hip-hop, pop and rock elements makes AViVA’s new sound a catchy and unique sonic pleasure.
AViVA wanted to create music that would connect with her audience in the same way she has always found music based on its ability to connect and feel. “So long as people find a connection, I will keep being cryptic. Sometimes not having all the facts helps people to find more meaning.” Says AViVA, herself no stranger to the feelings of exclusion and disillusionment.
GRRRLS stands as an invitation to join in the deeper concept she is building. This song creates a bridge to the world inside AViVA’s mind, transporting us into the dystopian city of Metropolis, a place which provided the strength and experience she needed to stop trying to fit in and try something radical to be herself. GRRRLS is an anthem for girls, boys, men and women everywhere and serves as a reminder to stand proud of who you are, forget what others think and fight for the right to be you.

Working with WhoMadeWho was something I wanted to do for quite a while, their self-titled album on Gomma is one of my favorites! ‘Desires' came together very naturally, my instrumental production was already in a similar musical world so when I showed them one of the early versions they quickly agreed to provide the vocals for the track. This is a collaboration not many were expecting but that just makes it so much more special. Hope you enjoy and feel free to share :)

‘Mirage’ is the new single from German producer Tim Bernhardt, aka Satin Jackets. Released this November on Eskimo Recordings, ‘Mirage’ continues Bernhardt’s winning streak that has made him one of the hottest nu-disco/house producers around, clocking up more than 20 million plays on Spotify alone in the past few years.
 
Following on from this summer’s Nordic themed hit ‘Northern Lights’, Bernhardt has once again looked to Scandinavia for inspiration. “I think this might be the hookiest track I have made so far,” explains Bernhardt. “But then you start looking for the best possible topline which, of course, can be like searching for the Holy Grail, but on a trip to Stockholm at last it all came together. BOOM! You can definitely hear the strong Swedish pop influence in it. I can’t wait to see how people will react to it.”
 
Built upon a gentle bed of bubbling synths, delicate guitar licks and laidback beats ‘Mirage’ is classic Satin Jackets, the song’s beautiful melodies the perfect setting for the bittersweet lovelorn lyrics that tell of a moment of self-realisation at the end of a relationship.
