Since 1991, Tresor has provided a home for artists to develop their ideas for advanced new sounds and broadcast them to the world. The pioneers that first traversed the Detroit-Berlin connection and were at the forefront of a new cultural movement gave to Tresor its original and continuing mission: community, resistance and reshaping the world to come.

The Tresor 30 compilation represents a major landmark in this continuing history of electronic music. This unique collection of music profiles some of the artists that gave the previous three decades of Tresor its sound and foundation, but it also casts its gaze forward. Writing new postcards from the future, this collection brings new artists who maintain a connection to that original mission to the fore, charting ways in which this ethos can continue to build bridges and break walls in the next 30 years.

Bringing together 52 essential tracks - both classics and exclusive commissions - each of the 12 records in this box-set charts a unique line of flight from those artists that helped define the shape of this new music to those who continue to pattern its landscape further.

Jensen Interceptor x DeFeKT - Broken City

Slinky, a new album from The Fear Ratio, the collaborative project of Mark Broom and James Ruskin, is forthcoming on Tresor Records. In their first outing since They Can't Be Saved, released on Skam in 2020, they enlist British rapper King Kashmere, who features on two tracks. Where James Ruskin has appeared on Tresor Records for his seminal albums Point 2, Into Submission, The Dash and his recent Siklikal EP, the only appearance of Mark Broom on the label is a 2002 remix of The Golden Apple by Eddie "Flashin" Fowlkes. The duo unveiled this new work and collaboration with King Kashmere in a live show for a 30th Anniversary event for Tresor Berlin televised on Arte, performing amidst a battery of lights and fogged-up refraction. It demonstrated their rough-hewn fundamentals, roving melodies and investigative power, newly advanced by voice. 

Death Switch is the first appearance by King Kashmere, savaging questions on segregation and suffering, encoding into our brains the much-repeated refrain - "You wanna know, why they wanna flip the death switch". Spinning Globe captures Kashmere in a gritty flow over a swaggering beat, bouncing and resonant. This unsanded voice lends an enhanced texture and tension to the highly-processed sonic palette of Broom and Ruskin, accumulating with innate mettle.

Elsewhere, Appi dredges depths as widescreen beats lurk, digital artefacts pave the way to a hauntingly melancholic coda. Lacovset features singer Ella Fleur who has worked with Mark Broom on his solo release F&uuml;nfzig. It enacts a pointillist gated vocal alongside dolphin-like percussive communications. On LFIVE, the duo embalms their sonic textures with digital effects that flutter austerely with syncopation in the crosswind of a beat that recalibrates at points. An urgency slowly draws in on title track Slinky through fizzing electronics and fractured drums all corroded. Effem locates a semblance of euphoria, with a trance-inducing release led by swirling arpeggios. Closer KZAP finds the calmest moment on the record, with its wafting, nebulous synths and swamped hip hop beat. 

Slinky finds an ever-evolving project, The Fear Ratio shapeshifting by bringing in the voice into their work and continually pushing with their incredibly-effected rhythmic styles and peculiar, wandering synthesis.

Nors Kode is the latest iteration of Pierpaolo Tiano’s musical vision. Mixing a tasteful sound palette of hypnotic percussive loops and drum grooves with consistent melodic themes portrayed through his dreamy synth lines and often gritty bass lines, Nors Kode is a breath of fresh air in melodic techno. 

His debut EP ”Latitude” showcases a dynamic array of synth progressions over a drum groove that is bound to keep your head bobbing. Born in Canada to Sicilian immigrant parents, Pierpaolo spends most of his childhood moving from country to country, between Europe and America due to his father’s international work, which ends being key to his diverse musical formation.  Los Angeles becomes his home, where his musical journey begins, eventually spending his time between writing music for TV/Film (20th Century Fox, Disney), commercials (Mercedes, BMW, Amazon), video games (Sony, Ratchet & Clank) and playing in several live bands ranging in style from Jazz to Alternative Rock.

In 2020, during the dark hours of the Covid 19 lockdown he takes part in Giorgia Angiuli’s competition Project “United” which not only gets him a feature in the project but also an ongoing collaboration with the Italian Prog House star. The two subsequently release Be My Rain for Giorgia’s EP, ‘Trust the hours’ soon followed by ‘Stay Curious’, released on Lane8’s label ‘This Never Happened’. Their last collaboration ends up on her acclaimed 2021 album ‘Quantum Love’. In late 2021 Nors Kode’s solo EP “Lu” is released on “Parquet Recordings” and charts in the Beatport’s Best Melodic House & Techno top 20 and gaining 390K streams on Spotify.

Nors Kode’s love for music that “stirs something inside” from his time as an LA based film composer combined with his hunger for electronic driving beats are what define his unique take on music. He is currently based in Barcelona, Spain.

1.LU: for solo flute, lit: in Tbetan 'Free Song;. Improvised on a ceremonial flute from the region of Kham, this music is based on a form of 'non-rhythmic'  Tibetan folk music, composed & sung spontaneously by bands of travelers as they moved across the high plateaus.
2.SHA for solo sarangi , mixed with natural water sounds( lit. the name of the temple in which the Upadesha series of the Dzog-Chen teachings were concealed. This piece is played in the raga or mode Goonkali.
3..LHA for solo sarangi , lit. in tibetan 'divinity', also the inner substance of all phenomena, granting  ong life & ultimately immortality. This composition is in the raga or mode Bhairagi 
4.PADMA, for voice, chorus, tabla & tambora.m lit.in the Sanskrit 'lotus.' This piece is built on the mantra of guru Rimpoche, the Lotus-born Guru, who, in the 8th century  established the teachings of the Buddha in Tibet.
