« Doux désastre », est un album 11 titres. Il rend fidèlement compte de ma musique en temps et lieu. Profondément enraciné dans le blues, la country, la folk et le rock, elle est subtilement influencée par le jazz, la chanson française, et d'autres musiques exotiques. 
Ce disque raconte la vie de tous les jours avec une petite touche d'héroïsme ou de Don Quichotisme. Il veut partager des points de vue émotionnels, politiques, sentimentaux, philosophiques avec tous les autres héros de fortune. Avec humour et amour.

Let It Flow

This one was written before I started travelling, but it already belonged to the spirit of the trip. Of course I didn't know about it. Songs can tell you about things you find out later on. I wrote it for someone who didn't want it, (didn't want anything from me, actually), so I lost a friend and kept the song. Thank you anyway.

Leaving Shadows Far Behind

I have chosen to include this Bob Dylan cover into this collection because in this times where people are called « migrants », (no past, no future, no nothing), with disgust and fear, this songs reminds us that we are all immigrants of life, refugees of love, beggars of the universal mind. And that these people we regard as « something else » are just like us, and that we are just like them.

Shadow theater where things are not what they seem. You might find yourself in some Kafkaian trial too. Well You must walk through some hardships sometimes in order to find out what you want and what you don't.

Ghost Of Yourself

This is a love AND hate song about a beautiful wild thing with a wonderful and awful mind. We got close enough to set my heart on fire, and to know that I want her away from me. But anyway I have no regret. I am happy that we met and I am happy to know she's around. Sister's on her way, and I'm on my way too !

Baby's On Her Way

I love Rebetiko, this Greek blues with deep Turkish roots, the music of the outcast. This is an attempt at writing my own rebetiko song. Pretty arrogant, I know, but respectful. I used the first lines of an authentic rebetiko song and went on with some other stuff I saw or heard on the way. In the spirit though I hope.

Wicked Game

This is a fake light song. I wrote it one year ago. A woman that I new, (or believed I did), spoke those words : « dancing with the air ». She was talking about a kind of extatic dance she practiced. It rang a bell. This expression appeared very meaningful to me as a whole way to be in life. To adapt and be with the elements our body and our mind meet. Like Tai Chi or Chi Kong, on a whole existential dimension. I have been living this way for some years, and I can say that never life was as interesting as it is now.
Old Nietzsche, used to say he wouldn't believe in a god who wouldn't dance. The great man danced himself to the end of the mind, embraced and kissed a meastreated horse in the streets of Turin, broke down, and was a mutic old baby at his mother's house until he died. Maybe not the worse way to end one's life. 
The mind is a trap in which most of us fall. We are educated to build it up with reasonning, fill it up with knowledge, make it strong and unassailable, and try to keep it going the longest we can. It becomes this heavy thing inside our head that keeps us down on « safe » ground, with beliefs, experience, memories and a sense of identity. Nietzsche hated the « spirit of heaviness », this serious posturing, so many mistake with real serious. 
I don't trust the mind nor anything that makes it up. I trust my guts, my breath, not my mind. Since I was a child, I thought that « normality » is a tale we tell to ourselves. Never believed in it. I always was interested in the oniric dimension and other states in between. I found out that there is another way to relate to the world and to others, humans, animals, plants, minerals, than seeing and defining them as « things », « objects », which we mostly do. Maybe this is why I was made to deal with animals, like when I was a shepherd with cows in the mountain pastures of Valais, in Switzerland, or taking care of people with schizophrenia or autism as a social worker. I was made to be in between.
I don't trust rationalism. Rationalism is reason gone mad. Rationalism has built the crazy world we live in and the crazy science we live by. When it collapses, what's left ? Nihilism, war and desperation. But there is something else. You don't have to believe in it, because it doesn't belong to belief. I trust beauty. I trust the sacred dance of man in the cosmos, the endless changes of the sea, the mind blowing gift of the light, and the loving kiss of the sky. This is faith.

Dancing With The Air

The idea for this song came to me in a very special place in the south of Crete. Last summer, in August, I spent a few weeks camping on the beach in Sougia, a relaxed sea resort with natural free nudism and a particular art of chilling. Many beautiful people there. It was great to enjoy the sea, the sun, to connect, meet, play music, maybe flirt... The minute I got out of the van, every notion of time faded away. I had this very strange feeling of « why would I ever leave ? » Felt lazier than I ever did. Sougia's hot atmosphere is like opium. It can make you forget about everything you ever lived. Instantly. The air is thick and sweet like honey. It can melt you down to nothing. Turn you into a lizard. Or a fly. Very magic, indeed.
But I didn't feel fullfilled. I was still missing something. Close to Sougia, is Lissos an ancient settlement from Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine eras. The water of Lissos' spring has healing powers. A temple dedicated to the God of Medicine, Asklipios, was built there. I was told that this place was very powerful, and that it could even get spooky at night. I felt I needed some healing, by then. I was painfully torn between a holistic perception of life and a very egocentric ring of emotions that was choking me. 
I went to Lissos twice, once by boat, the other time walking up the llittle gorge. I drank the water, and I spent the night in contemplation in the ruins of the temple of Asklipios. It was very moving to put my feet in the steps of ancient pilgrimages. And something happened. Nothing spooky, though. It was a very peaceful and sweet meeting with myself. Maybe « myself » is not the right word, actually, because I was there like just another leaf on the tree, shivering at the gentle evening breeze. Not really someone anymore. I'm not sure Asklipios was there, but  I heard a voice. And I saw. 
I was in a space where life and death have other meanings than the ones they usually have. Dancing around each other like the yin yang feature in peace and harmony. I saw that if I can see your side as my side, there is no side anymore. I know it sounds weird but this is the truth I found there in the Temple of Asklipios, (not that I would hold on to any truth, for that matter), before the mosquitos chased me back down to the beach. And I could understand and accept and forgive myself for being what I am not. And the pain faded away. And I felt relieved and healed.  And the other thing I found there, is that anyone can heal him/her self any where, any time from the pain we cause to ourselves, and therefore to the world. Be blessed.
