The following inscription, written by the composer, appears at the front of the score: 
"Tenderly is a music of memory which can maintain its distance as it approaches, of recollections which maintain their intimacy as they evaporate. It is of visions projected on the dark side of the eyelid, mid-transformation from the formless pink, purple, and blue clouds produced by the brain in the absence of sight, to the definite apparitions of speculative experience produced by dreaming: Equally fleeting as they are permanent, promised in tomorrow night’s sleep."

Ritual 1 - Jacob Rogers

"there is only you and i" (2020) is a piece for flute and live electronics that explores connections between the flute and voice. Fleeting gestures of amplified flute and voice weaves in and out of layered textures created through live processing. The text heard throughout the piece is taken from the poem there is only you and i, a computer-generated poem.

Recordings made circa 1993-1994 during a transition time in Atlanta and then New York City (tiny room in Harlem near City College).  Most of these were made using a cassette 4-track recorder.
