There aren’t many drum and bass artists who have developed a sound as recognisable as Millbrook in the space of two years. From the distinct shuffle of his drums, to those famous bass growls that initially took the scene by storm on “Rituals”, Millbrook has consistently impressed with his unique take on dancefloor D&B. The artist’s latest release on Elevate is no different. Featuring the immense vocal talents of Flowdan – whose career flourished as a member of the Roll Deep crew – “Power” is a track rolling back time to the MC-driven jump up sound that initially hooked Millbrook on D&B in the first place. It’s a track every DJ needs in their toolbox!

After the success of Millbrook’s debut Elevate release “Green Light” (ft. Cara Islay) back in May, we couldn’t wait to get the artist back on the label. He has already shown what he’s capable of for labels including Viper Recordings, Ram Records and Deadbeats, but we guarantee there’s plenty more dancefloor surprises to come.

Metrik’s highly anticipated second album ‘LIFE/THRILLS’ released on Hospital Records is an exhilarating and flawlessly executed evolution of his signature sound. Under the banner of drum & bass it draws on his love for film soundtracks, synthwave, neo-soul and the Japanese pop sub-genre, Shibuya-kei and includes collaborations with Elisabeth Troy, NAMGAWD, Roméo Testa, Ragga Twins, Rothwell and Reija Lee.

‘Electric Echo’, a collaboration with Fightstar’s Dan Haigh and Alex Westaway’s synthwave side project Gunship, encapsulates the ethos of the album merging the unfamiliar with D&B sensibilities to create a fresh and exciting new sound. We also welcome the return of Elisabeth Troy in 'Chasing Sunrise' and Reija Lee in 'Cadence' making for two powerful vocal highlights on the record. For those of a purist nature, fear not; Metrik’s sophomore album is one hundred percent drum & bass and he hasn’t forgotten about the dancefloor. Bangers like 'Western Jam', 'Fatso' and 'Destination Earth' make up a serious proportion of the album’s generous fifteen tracks and reinforce his status as one of the heaviest producers on the block.

Over the past year Metrik has travelled the world representing drum & bass at major festivals of all denominations; from Glastonbury and Global Gathering to Outlook and EDC Las Vegas. All the while crafting remixes for the likes of DJ Fresh, Ellie Goulding, Gorgon City and Martin Garrix, and collaborating with fellow D&B superstars TC and Netsky. Fans of his UK Dance Chart Top 20 debut 'Universal Language' will find plenty to love here however its Metrik’s devotion to creating a fresh and thrilling strain of drum & bass that stands to bring in a new audience and earmark 'LIFE/THRILLS' for instant classic status.

One of Viper's most recent and most promising signings is Berlin based Millbrook, who made his Viper debut earlier this year with ‘The Rise’ and ‘Refractions’, followed closely by ‘Rituals’, ‘Beyond’, and his recent remix for Matrix & Futurebound themselves.
With such a successful year already, there is no denying Millbrook has proven consistently he is one to watch. His latest offering to the label comes in the way of ‘Never Forget’, showcasing yet another different side to the producer’s many talents. Leading with tribal drums , the track sets a visceral tone from the start while Takura’s vocals add to the raw energy early on. Slowly building in complexity and intrigue, Millbrook’s signature cinematic sounds are still heavily present throughout the track despite exploring different textures and vibes.
Of course, the drop is certainly recognizable to the producer’s already distinct sounds; there is an impressive depth to the production that is sure to keep Millbrook on the map for many more months to come. Having firmly established his dancefloor sound on an international scale, Metrik’s heavyweight drum & bass prowess sees support from the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac, MistaJam and Rene LaVice. His powerful anthems have been spun by D+B legends such as Andy C, Sub Focus, Friction, Culture Shock and more, across clubs and airwaves worldwide. Metrik is previously known for his popular solo works ‘Want My Love’, ‘Fatso’, ‘We Got It’ and ‘Chasing Sunrise’, as well as his collaborative remix with D+B high flyer Wilkinson of ‘I Need’, that reached the BBC Radio 1 playlist in 2019.
