Cuatro Estaciones - Leyder Beisan

Leyder was raised and born on the "island of music", Cuba. His artistic journey began at the age of 11 when he entered the Art School of Santiago de Cuba. His education revolved around painting, dance and, of course, music. During his studies, Leyder realized that his love for music was more than a casual one and decided to dedicate himself to the art. Gifted with a strong and melodious voice he focussed on singing. 

He has practiced his craft as a singer in local theatre productions and International Festivals, and has been featured  as a vocal soloist in local clubs. He also belonged to a professional theatre group that travelled throughout Cuba.

Leyder's  professional career extended into the realm of popular media. He became something of a television personality while hosting a local program in Santiago de Cuba. He also became a radio program host of a municipal radio station. All the while, gaining more experience as a presenter and entertainer in live shows as well as at carnivals and other diverse cultural events that showcased his talents. He has established himself as both a serious artist and a crowd pleaser.

In  2002 after landing a contract as headliner  his reputation was solidified throughout the region as he performed regularly at various Hotels in Varadero . In 2004 he recorded a solo album entitled, Azuquita pal Café (Sugar for Coffee). His CD was well received by his fans and included the songs that he sang nightly in his live shows.

In addition to his solo career, Leyder also collaborated with other local musicians in various clubs and musical festivals around town. These life experiences have moulded Leyder into becoming a dynamic, energetic and multi-talented performer. Since his arrival in Montreal in March 2007, Leyder has been busy acclimatizing himself to his new surroundings and learning Canada's two official languages, English and French. He has performed in local shows around the city and pursues his passion for singing. He is adding English and French language songs to his usual Spanish repertoire. Leyder is currently developing various music projects and working on the next chapter of his career.
