this song is lonely in a world of denial, this is where loss begins, while remembering distorted visions of bad memories, and trying to keep the good ones that keep geting lost, the music, however, contiues after these interuptions of memories being replaced

The Pharaoh's Wings

Sometimes,
the incense transports me to cold, starry places.

On the right kind of evening,
if I close my eyes and inhale it deeply,
I can feel my mouth filling with sand.

I am kneeling in the desert,
naked and lashed under the lights of countless stars.

There is no sound but the wind.

First,
she sings to me in discordant tones,
and as millions of crystalline grains carried through the air begin to glimmer,
I see her dance for me too.

A once invisible seductress,
manifesting before me in the blinding, stinging starlight,
where wisps coil and unfurl in the most menacing of ways.

I inhale deeply once again and my wounds open wider,
spreading now like wings beneath the canopy of light.

The sand reshapes me.

A beautiful,
profane form.

Winds and sand,
cutting and caressing,
opening me wider still to the heavens.

I weep,
and bleed,
and die in the starlight.

I am gone but Another remains.

A dreamed thing.
A shattering of glass and other ideas that bleed.
Best to avoid these thoughts

AGAIN

for some time,
until the mind has healed enough
to properly 
understand them.
