This mix has it all! For episode 47 - and the second to last episode of the year - we're excited to welcome gudemami (@kathleenwiddit) for her LGCY FM guest mix featuring house, future bass and melodic dubstep. Packed with feels and classics! 

"Hewo, my name is Kathleen and I am Vietnamese-American 24 y/o born and raised on Duwamish unceded ancestral lands (Renton, Washington). My DJ name was created by my best friend on a whim and was inspired by my all time fave: Gudetama, the Japanese lazy egg character! Fun fact: I have a large Gudetama tattoo on my leg - sorry mom and dad!! 

What started off as downloading tracks and burning them onto CDs as a kid (lol back when CDs were still a thing), I then graduated to creating an aggressively unhealthy amount of Spotify playlists as a coping mechanism through life - each set had a specific, overarching theme and vibe tied to it that was special to me. DJing is essentially an extension of that creative outlet and it has been so fun to learn alongside so many talented creatives in the community!! Plus I am on a lifelong mission to explore all the sounds the world has to offer! :')

This LGCY mix was influenced by artists such as INZO, Flume, Galamatias who curate and blend unique synth sounds, strings, future bass, along with Adventure Club's classic cinematic dubstep buildups, melodies and drops. I wanted to create something mystical, intimate and immersive  that captures the wide range and fluctuating journey that a wandering mind may trek to, with music as our direct transporters to nostalgic feelings, memories, emotions. "

LGCY FM S4 E51: CHLO (Soul, Electronic, House Mix)

TRANCE FAMILY WYA?! This week we're honored to welcome @malkalen (Justin Gonzales) to LGCY FM with a guest mix dedicated to the sounds of progressive and uplifting trance. From Los Angeles, his  set pays tribute to some warmly cherished tunes from my last ten years of DJing, portraying a search of love and fulfillment through explorations of trance soundscapes from the past two decades.

Justin Gonzales is a queer and autistic Filipino-American artist creating at the intersection of classical, world, and electronic dance music. Warmly recognized through the past decade for his commitment to immersive and emotional storytelling, the musician presently fuses together trance, breaks, electronica, and more within performances up to twenty-four hours long.

Hailing from Los Angeles and based in Berkeley, you can also find Justin studying to become a public school music teacher, playing Scottish bagpipe music, lion dancing, performing with wind ensembles, or crashing his bicycle into large pickup trucks.
