'Bayou: Tale from the Swamp' is quite possibly the most original Sample Pack of 2021. The music and professional voiceover transport us back in time to 19th century Louisiana. Folks thought there was a plague but eventually awoke to the nightmare that it was actually a zombie apocalypse. Yes, you heard correctly! Our narrator guides us through the swamp in pursuit of a particularly aggressive zombie. The narrators slow, deep and rugged southern drawl add to the character, atmosphere and magic of this fine production.

'Osaka Beats' is inspired by the Japanese narration included with the pack plus Manga and photography imagery from the 90s, 'Osaka Beats' features a collection of eclectic sounds and loops including glitch pop percussion loops made from car sounds and tools, custom shop Japanese electric guitars, iconic Japanese synths, ambient Foley recordings from Japan, Japanese 90s anime style VO narrations, and one of the sexiest sax solos ever to grace a sample pack.

This piece was inspired by the chaotic light pollution of the nights I spent in Seoul, and the serene clarity and peacefulness that coexisted amongst the sensory overload

Something I had already been doing for years myself to keep on my toes and as a chance to refine workflow and explore ideas perhaps not feasible through work stuffs etc. Often giving rise to some of the most enjoyable results and fresh sounds. I figured it could be great fun to share these sounds but also the process as a group, an opportunity to gain insight into the unique nuances of how everyone works.

A Collaboration with my friend =TMB=. I wrote the drums, bass, chords and core melody and he arranged those tracks and added some space sounds and windy sweeps then doubling up on the melody and improvised the intro, intermezzo and outro solos with a some beast chops and patches from the A6 Andromeda!

For the mix itself I really wanted to reinforce the retro feel of the track so I passed everything through some old harmonic exciters and EQ'd with a slight club vibe in mind while still retaining some of the more laid back smoother tones.

After what should have been a fatal motorbike accident, she managed to survive combining the very latest in experimental bionic research, and the use of an unknown strand of wasp venom. Although things were never quite the same; her mind clouded by a dark poison, punctuated only by brief moments of respite as the sea breeze blows through her hair. She stares into the lingering sunset before being thrown back into a neon lit underworld of shadows and uncertainty, perpetually on the run.
