This is a song I wrote for piano thinking back on my youth and the days I lived in my hometown, Galway. I called it 'Waltzing Around Galway'.

‘The Jester Cries’ deals with both sides of life. Even the Jester, a figure normally associated with joy and comedy, cries sometimes. It begins in a happy upbeat allegro tempo but suddenly the Jester breaks down in tears. I have sought to dramatise sudden changes in mood in the work. Hope you enjoy it!

El Bufón Llora trata las dos caras de la vida. Hasta el Bufón, una figura asociada con alegría y comedia, llora a veces. Empieza en tempo alegro cuando de repente el Bufón rompe a llorar. En esta obra, he intentado dramatizar los cambios de humor que las personas sufren. ¡Que os disfruten!

THE JESTER CRIES - guitar

“Somewhere in the Middle” neither fits in the classical nor the jazz genre but somewhere in the middle. The cadences are somewhat unclear and convey of uncertainty. 
It even starts somewhere in the middle of a song as if to ask the question: Where am I in life? Somewhere in the Middle, I suppose.
Am I Irish or more Spanish having spent more of my life here in Spain. Again the answer is somewhere in the middle.

This song, titled 'Light and Shade of Adelaide', is dedicated to my brother Sean Tedders on his 10th anniversary. This is a photo of Sean at my sister's wedding in 1995.

Liam Tedders studied classical guitar at the Superior Conservatory of Music in Oviedo, Spain, where he obtained his degree in the performance arts. Later, he went on to study composition and has attended numerous master classes with eminent artists such as Ricardo Gallen. Most of his artistic endeavour focuses on composition for guitar, piano and quartet.
