This is the official soundtrack for the Age of Empires III mod, Wars of Liberty, that has been newly remastered in 2023. This soundtrack is meant to combine the different cultures and civilizations the game offers into one cohesive set of musical pieces. Each track represents a different culture that is played during the game. There are also certain tracks that are played at a specific moment in the game that helps the player hear and learn about the civilization that is presented.

This piece is a newly self-released single, all written and composed in an adventurous style. As the winter approaches, it can be defined as warm and bright, as well as a strong sense of pulse. A perfect outgoing orchestration of classical strings, percussion, piano, and a nice supportive charango line. This will be the first of many new pieces of music that will be apart of future productions. Enjoy!

This is the first track that is played in the Dofos region that opens up the world of Wandering Cat to the player. Ambient sounds of nature is heard throughout the piece that invites a certain feline critter to explore the many surroundings the game offers while providing a melody of adventure!

Aerial Visions

This ambient piece was created using the sounds of car recordings I sampled to create a slow melancholy melody. These sounds are also included in my newest sample library for DecentSampler called Murky Roads. 

Carseat Lullaby

The opening theme track to Wars of Liberty. This piece was inspired by the base game, Age of Empires III opening track, as a similar motif is played throughout the piece. This theme adds a wide variety of instrumentation from many different parts of the world. The melody is strong and keeps adding on to the excitement, resulting in a final crescendo with booming drums now present, ending the piece strong and confidently.

A New Dawning

This track was the first creation of the Wars of Liberty soundtrack which acts kinda like a secondary theme song. The purpose of this track was to make a piece that combines different instruments and styles of music into one track that is filled with action.

War At Dusk

This piece is meant to reflect on the African cultures that are presented in the game. The local tribes of the Zulu kingdom were known for their strong and independent culture that spread all throughout south Africa. With that, also came music and art, using it as a way to boost spirits and for rituals. The Zulu were masters at playing their native percussion instruments in creating a melody within the complex rhythms. This piece uses these techniques to create a melody within percussion that sounds fresh and tribal to reflect the strong heritage of the Zulu.

Zulu Sunrise

This piece is dedicated to exploring the culture and sounds of the European east. With the howling winds present throughout the track, it is a reflection of the climate and lifestyle of the eastern civilizations. Many of the unique instruments of the traditional east European cultures are heard in the piece, giving a folk like style to reimagine the local peoples and their songs played within the polar streets of St. Petersburg.

Eastward

This track takes a more cinematic approach, using the mellow strings as a way to build up momentum in the piece, and sustaining the many harmonies played within the chords. The second half then opens up with a solo Oboe that rings out a melody, following with a tenor ranged Erhu that adds some harmony to the Oboe, making a final crescendo that completes the piece.

Golden Age

Botev Peak

This piece is played in the favor of the enemy, when the game is lost. The gloomy strings are heard, along with a loud chime that reminds the player that their time is now up. After the sounds of loss, comes a voice and a flute, mournfully singing in the absence of everything else. It is a sad, yet hopeful melody that the player can learn from in future games.

Endless Darkness

This piece represents the dignity and royalty of the European empires, who created vast empires to show their dominance and influence. Much of the Western music and culture came from these empires, which spread throughout the globe. Many composers in western music wrote and played their music on the piano, which is what this track is intended to present.
