Adapted from an Incan elegiac lament composed upon Atahualpa’s death in 1533, Lament for Atahualpa is the final song on Liana Condor’s debut album Fallow. Inspired by the sounds of cumbia and artists like Nicola Cruz and Rodrigo Gallardo, Lament is exemplary of Fallow’s rhythmic and looped acoustic sound; fused with an angst-ridden call to reflect, debate, and lament upon humanity’s destructive tendencies.
