Perfect Imperfections is aimed at describing the emotional journey we go through when learning how to accept who we are. We constantly battle with either other people's perspectives on our body or our own little voice that's telling us we're not good enough. In Libby's words: If you _just_ changed this if you _just_ did that, you'd be perfect. 


The song starts by enumerating all the standards that we so desperately try to attain, the gossip and the authoritative statements we must sometimes listen to. It goes on to list all the things we are criticized for when dressing up, when simply being who we are - no matter our background. Finally, it's about breaking free of those boxes, stereotypes and criticism - loving yourself.



 The chorus of the song is geared to society - it aims to question why we are so obsessed with perfection when it is an unattainable standard set for women. Unattainable beauty standards rule our everyday life and we hope that this song takes you through that journey and makes you love your perfect imperfections. The journey of the song is the standards, questioning the standards, making the decision to love ourselves and affirming our stand [bridge] !

I Do' is a tribute to my husband. In him, I found a Love that emulates Christ's love for the church. He pours out that love without measure and this song is my vow to constantly chose to commit to that love with all my heart mind and soul.

The song lyrics are a blend of my marriage vows and a celebration of the journey of love and commitment I have for my partner through the ups and downs of it all till the end of time. The song builds its foundation from Ephesians 5:25:

'I Do' has wonderful African elements that draw from Benga and Seben elements with strong Indie guitar influences. It is also my first single that includes a blend of English, Swahili, Taita (my native language)

' Rise Again’ is a anti-rape campaign song. The song talks about rape in three different contexts; child rape, rape within marriage, and rape by a stranger.
The song also includes a short spoken word I wrote, as an open letter from a rape victim to his/her perpetrator.
The conclusion of the song inspires hope and an act of waging war against the perpetrator through chanting, 'I Will Rise Again in spite of all the pain.'
The goal of the song is to stir up a discussion geared towards awareness of Sexual gender-based Violence culture in Kenya. The song calls into question how rape survivors suffer after the experience and how society has empowered perpetrators.

Hi, My name is Libby Ndambo. I am a Musician (singer-songwriter), actor, writer, voice-over artist and Social justice advocate born and raised in in Nairobi, Kenya. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a concentration in Electronic media that I practice part-time.

I am a born-again Christian who is passionate about exploring my relationship with Christ through serving people. I began singing from an early age but I recall 2009 being a major turning point in my life when I realized that I was born to be a performer.

The genre of music I practice is a blend of pop music, soft rock, black gospel, contemporary Christian and Afro fusion. What inspires my art is what I call, ‘The Chambers of my Heart.’ which are my Love for God, people, country and purpose. All this is inspired by God and out of the overflow of my Christian walk.

My music is a cocktail of heart and mind, peace and war, pain and joy because I write music that one can sit, relax, make sense of the noise and ultimately stir up a discussion geared for change. Rest assured, when you attend my concert, all emotions will be stirred up and crying will be one of the things that may happen.
