Dutch duo D&S debut on Avoidant with a heady and virulent 4 track EP, Indentured Servitude. Drawing on more deeper and futuristic Electro, this expertly executed EP shows a duo on the rise. 

Their shared love of Detroit shines through emphatically on all 4 tracks as the glistening and emotive opener, Reasonable Doubt, sets the tone. Title track, Indentured Servitude, delivers on more attitude while remaining true to the pairing's deeper roots. Distraction serves up yet another flawlessly warm and Detroit schooled cut of funk before closing on Conjecture, upping the pace, and yet again delivering a classic atmospheric sound.

Kynant EX is a series for non-dancefloor focused records on hand-stamped vinyl. The second release comes from Leeds-based, abstract turntablist, NikNak – the first Black turntablist to win an Oram Award. She created Bashi by manipulating and processing samples through her decks. First released digitally in November 2020, now the album is expanded with a live edit and remixes from Bristol 140-don Pinch and Kamau (FKA Darling Farah). Bashi X2 has also been remastered by Neel.

Available on 12” vinyl and digital from November 26th, 2021.

KYN EX 002 NikNak - Bashi X2 (previews)

Following the analogue-fuelled, sci-fi electro soundscapes of Hungarian producer Norwell’s Interkosmos EP comes a record a little closer to home. Robin Wylie is a producer synonymous with wicked breakbeats, 2-step and jungle with a refreshing take on electronic music in his home of Belfast. A pace-setter in every regard, Robin’s work alongside dubstep pioneer J:Kenzo as Polarity is to be particularly admired, bringing labels like Sneaker Social Club for their debut in a city usually dominated by house and techno.

Now the pair join forces again (the latter under his Hezzaine moniker), this time on Nez’s Computer Controlled Records, serving up three raw cuts of tough, acid-dipped electronics and lairy UK-electro energy.

Inspired by the 1975 Doctor Who character Davros, ‘Davros on Acid’ is an otherworldly, sludged-out trip through Planet Skaro, ear-wriggling synth lines and malfunctioning bleep and bloops providing the listener with a tumbling Alice-In-Wonderland sonic experience; blasting off through the outer-rims of space as dotted stars turn to streaks of white light, landing on a planet ethereal and previously unexplored.

‘Timelines’ is a clubbier cut; a tough bass-trip whose beauty is channeled through its simplicity. Sometimes less is more, that much is evident on this tough cut of screw-face, peak-time electro, before ‘Dynamics’ ventures down a more melodic route, maintaining its acidic energy and blending it with an alien, atmospheric dreamscape for a softer experience as we come into land.

Present on stage for 6 years with over a hundred performances behind turntables. The common feature of his sets, regardless of the style, is the bass.

This set is recorded according to the #biodercore trend and includes an immediate return to the festival chillout scenes with foggy in the morning, because remember: DUB techno is Sound System music! Vinyl only.

For the fifth release on Grand River’s experimental label, One Instrument; synthesizer maestro Donato Dozzy gifts us with an incredible, psychedelic 38-minute journey.

“Slow Train” has been created using the EMS Synthi AKS, an extraordinary and rare portable modular analog synthesizer, first manufactured in 1972.

'One Instrument Sessions - Donato Dozzy' highlights the artist's most experimental side on what will be his 7th studio album. These tracks are the honest outcome from a long and intimate engagement with the instrument which were produced in his San Felice Circeo studio during an “altered state” night in October 2013.

The resulting music is one of fluid continuity; Dozzy’s most extensive, vigorous and determined application of real-time studio recording to date.
The intensity of both parts of “Slow Train” are comparable to a mindfulness experience in which the listener’s perception of reality slows down enabling every small detail of the sound to become alive and increasingly vivid.

On Board is proud to present its newest project, ’The Meaning of Time’ - a 23-track compilation exploring the rift and alteration in time perception global health crisis that’s crippled all sides of our societies has engaged amongst artists and creators. The dedicated goal of this charity V/A is both to document this very special time in our lives and serve as a means of solidarity when most of us out there are struggling to make a living. Content wise, and true to the essence of our vision as a label, the music mainly spans the techno and ambient spectrums, with original content. 50% of the benefits from the sales will go to the involved artists, whilst the remaining 50% will be donated to Sea-Watch - a German NGO that rescues migrants in the Mediterranean, notably by commissioning rescue ships.
