Effelsberg, is one of the most important radio telescopes in the world and one of the largest freely movable ones. Even today. Many years ago, I had the opportunity to join a group of students from the University of Bonn for an introduction to the working methods and global networking of radio astronomy at Effelsberg. It was an unforgettable experience. Beautifully situated in the Eifel, not far from Bonn and Cologne, it does its work in exploring the universe. With the video and the song I would like to take you on an imaginary journey into the depths of space. Enjoy the flavour

Effelsberg, ist eines der bedeutendsten Radioteleskope weltweit und eines der größten frei beweglichen. Auch heute noch. Vor vielen Jahren hatte ich Gelegenheit, mit einer Gruppe von Studenten der Universität Bonn, eine Einführung in die Arbeitsweise und die weltweite Vernetzung der Radioastronomie in Effelsberg mitmachen zu dürfen. Für wahr ein ein unvergässliches Erlebnis. Wunderschön in der Eifel gelegen, unweit von Bonn und Köln, verrichtet es sein Arbeit bei der Erforschung des Weltalls. Way back when, my friend J and I used to jam our Sundays away on our Atari. Me mixing our own pre-recorded loops and unique, melodic arpeggios and J improvising melodies over that mix, often resulting in hourlong opuses. I have fond memories of long sessions that almost felt like they were beyond time and space; just creative capsules of music and intuitive collaboration. Not many words were uttered; we spoke with each other through the music.

Now, many years and other priorities later, we have rekindled our musical co-creativity and breathed new life into our old format from those jam sessions: Spacemaze, but with a different take on the collab because of geographical reasons. J has made Spacemaze Apollo I part 1 and 3 and this is my continuation of the project, part 2. We aim to continue this project together and post our finished mixes on SC under our old band name, @PekPax.

I returned after the hearing loss (deaf in the right ear) and a long abstinence to electronic music in 2014/16.
While I used to make music exclusively on hardware synthesizers in my early days, a number of virtual instruments are now in use. My DAW is Ableton Live with a lot of Plugins ;-)
For many years, I have only been able to hear on one hearing. This makes it difficult for me to mix them but I give my best.
Besides music, photography is my great passion, that's also where my artist name comes from. Therefore all pictures and photos that can be seen on Sondcloud are my own work.
