“Berlin E.P.” by Marmion was released 28 years ago on 15th of April 1993. Unavailable for more than 20 years the legendary Berlin EP from Marmion is back as original repress, re-mastered and re-cut. The fourth release on Superstition Records and especially the included “Schöneberg” was suddenly heavily championed in the Benelux and UK, e.g. by Tony De Vit (RIP) @ legendary London’s Turnmills @ Trade events and soon became a legendary status as one of the biggest House or Tech-House hymns of its time, celebrated in the best clubs by the most renowned DJs worldwide. But this E.P. has much more to offer, Marcos Lopez and Mijk can Dijk managed to capture the very open minded spirit vibes and energy of the early 90s of Berlin in four different and special tracks. “T-Dancer"for example is Berlin’s Hi-Nrg answer to the East Coast House and was simply the hymn of the Gay-T-Dance scene worldwide. About Marmion: Mijk van Dijk and Marcos Lopez met each other in 1986 when both did their academics at FU Berlin. Marcos Lopez was yet working as a DJ at several Berlin clubs and was also the moderator at the Eastern-Germany based cult-radio station “DT 64″ with the legendary programme “Nightflight". Mijk van Dijk worked as a music journalist for magazines like “Frontpage", “CUT", “HYPE!", “Network Press". In 1990 he released his first record on the Berlin based Low Spirit label (LoopZone, Hate/Les enfants du paradies). For the Berlin Bash-records he produced in 1991 solo and together with DJ Tanith different 12″s, before he found a constant base at the also Berlin based MFS label with projects like Microglobe, LoopZone and Mindgear and on Superstition Records with his MIJK VAN DIJK projects.

Enigma

Produced during a three month sabbatical on an olive oil farm in rural Italy, Etum is the next genre-blurring project from London artist Jeigo, released via his own Fleurella Records.

Immersed in the rhythms of slower living and Tuscan landscapes, the UK producer channels a sense of melancholia, decompression and warmth across this multi-genre LP. From hazy ambient textures to leftfield club cuts and off-kilter breaks, Etum captures the feeling of both solitude and subtle transformation. It marks an introspective turn for Jeigo, further establishing his unique place in the ever-evolving electronic music landscape.

Following on from 22 Digit's 50th release, the UK label returns December 7th with a 2-track effort from Rhymos.

A Southampton native, Rhymos runs the Whistleblower imprint alongside fellow South Coaster's Alan Fitzpatrick and Reset Robot, and has developed an eclectic sound residing in the shadowy depths between techno and house. 

Taken from his new Drunken Eclipse EP, our Debut Transmission '8 Beers' presents a hypnotic journey, drenched in reverb and driven by a pulsating heart. This is tech house, but not as you know it...

Forceful, industrial and acidic, Kamera’s ‘Consignia’, taken from his EP ‘Ventoux’, arrives reworked by two producers each as uncompromising as the source material. 

Truncate steps up to deliver a remix that further encapsulates his precise vision of deep, raw techno. Choosing to boldly strip back the foundations of the original track, his powerful rework performs subtle but precise surgery, creating a tense masterpiece of sustain and release, enveloping the dancefloor in thunderous claps and jittering rave samples.

Meanwhile, the so far elusive Yaleesa Hall is tapped for an offbeat, dub version of Consignia, twisting the track into something altogether darker and stranger. A muddied, dare we say filthy bassline supports a chaotic framework of unpredictable drum patterns and mechanized noise, while still maintaining a hallucinogenic groove as the track’s original elements gasp for air underneath.
