Here's today's recording. I wrote this instrumental about a year and a half ago. It kind of got stuck in my head one morning and I had to keep playing it until I got it down and out. Then it never left.

I wrote this tune tonight. I wanted something suitable to end with since this is the last song in my September music challenge. I managed to record an original song each day of this month. Time to take a little break now. 

Last Stand

Here's a tune I just wrote in a brand new banjo tuning I tried out today. Stuck at home watching the snowstorm out my window and I realized I was bored of the same two tunings I've been playing in for years. Considering I have never played in this new tuning and didn't know any chords for it I feel I did alright discovering things on my own by ear. The tuning is called "Graveyard." My kind of tuning name!

Cold Falling Down

This was the second tune I wrote today in a brand new tuning I was exploring. I needed to warm myself up a bit as I watched the snow outside and people navigating large snowdrifts.

Snowdrift Stomp

Not sure where the inspiration came from on this tune. I'm not even certain exactly what style it is. All I know is that playing around in "Graveyard" tuning is yielding strange results this week! I'm definitely enjoying the change-up from the tunings I normally play in. So fun to kind of just explore around the frets and see what is lying hidden there.
