Lifestream is a three piece instrumental metal band from Northern Virginia.  The band is what remains of Freehand Arson, a melodic metal band with aspects of death, metalcore, and progressive metal.  The bands line-up includes Troy Tyrer on guitar, Jack McLarty on drums, and bassist Jason Thompson was recruited in 2010, and the band settled on their new style.  Leaning now more towards prog, with some of the old aspects of metalcore and melodic death, as well as Jazz and Classical influences.  They have begun to incorporate polyrhythms into their writing style along with groovy, bass driven beats, complimented by heavy guitar riffs and solo clean sections.  The sound presented by this band is different than most, but still enjoyable to metal, as well as progressive, and even groove rock fans.
