You Just Do - Live on KDVS

LIFT, an exciting new alternative rock band, will soon become a mainstay on local venue calendars after forming in late 2012. Even though the band itself is brand new to Sacramento, its members are all accomplished veterans of the music scene.

Tony Bataska (vocals, guitar) brings with him smooth vocals and insightful lyrics, thoughtfully crafted together after years of working the Nor Cal club circuit as a solo singer/songwriter. David Carl (guitar, keyboard, vocals) adds rich texture and innovative leads to the mix, having most recently employed his versatile talents in THE BANNER DAYS and THIS LUXURY. Lastly, LIFT’s well-acquainted rhythm section is comprised of Nathan Shields (bass, vocals) and Jeff Kwiatek (drums), both formerly of AUTOMATIC RIVAL.

LIFT has recently recorded a three-track demo and cites Foo Fighters, Stone Temple Pilots, Muse, The Killers, Weezer, and Smashing Pumpkins as its major influences. The band plans to leverage its existing network to begin playing live shows in earnest. One thing is certain: expect big things from LIFT in 2013.
