Los 90’s fueron sin duda para mi una etapa importante en la música. Muchas cosas a nivel personal acontecieron en esta década. El recordar y hablar de ella a veces me causa, incluso, algo de nostalgia, fueron tantas cosas las que sucedieron, tantos momentos épicos, momentos de mucho aprendizaje. Innumerables fiestas, muchas de ellas muy trascendentes. Una época también en la que conocí a muchas de las personas que más he querido y sigo queriendo hoy, personas con las que viví momentos musicales mágicos donde nuestras vidas dieron un giro de 360 grados. Una época donde la música comenzó a llevarme a otras partes del planeta permitiéndome dar un mensaje a través de ella, a otras personas y culturas. La selección de discos de este set es para mi especial y mi intención con ella es dejar un registro para nuevas generaciones, de uno de los sonidos que han trascendido desde aquel tiempo hasta el momento presente. A lo largo de mi carrera he conocido infinidad de música, géneros y los llamados subgéneros y a pesar de mis marcadas tendencias por ciertos estilos desde finales de los 80's, nunca me cerré o encasille en un solo tipo de música ya que la fuerza y el poder que de ella emana para mi se encuentra en toda.

Light IDR is a Dj and electronic music producer, who has played at the top nightclubs in Mexico and around the world, establishing him as one of Mexico’s influential underground dance artists. His style is constructed from various and different trends in electronic music, from house to techno.

Light’s career as an artist can be divided as before and after creating his own label. 

Way back in 1987, under the influence of the New wave, Electronic body music and the Acid House, Light began building a body of work that has made him a pioneer in the Mexican scene. Among the clubs he has played we find the legendaries in Mexico City’s history: Freak Hall, Hipopotamus, Medusas, Rimel, Pervert Lounge, Mystery, Jelly Belly, 69, Amsterdam 282, Ixchel, Metro, Underground, Salamanca, Avantgarde, among others.
During the 90´s Light was a pioneer of the “Rave Generation” in Mexico; he played with the finest artists of the global scene, including: Carl Cox, Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Okendfold, Green Velvet, Damian Lazarus , Lee Burridge, H.O.S.H, Jamie Jones, Dj Three, Francesco Farffa and Dave DK, to name a few.
In the early 2000’s, he was featured in a Rolling Stone’s Magazine article; one of the very few Mexican artists that have managed such a feat.
In 2006, Light was the resident Dj at the top nightclubs in Mexico City: “AM”, and Rioma.
During 2012 and 2013, he played twice at “Cumbre de Tajín”, sharing with international artists like Björk and Pet Shop Boys.
In 2014 he was the opening act of “The Stone Roses” concert in Mexico.
Recently in 2017 he played a Boiler Room Session in Mexico City
And playing also 2016 to  2018, shared music festivals “Xibalba” and “Ometeotl”

Since 2008, Light has been keenly focused on the development of his label “InfraDigrecords”, having gained the support of Djs and producers like: Eddie Richards, Jamie Jones, Dubfire, Stacey Pullen, Danny Tenaglia, Alexi Delano, Silicon Soul, Damian Lazarus, Hanfry Martinez, Marcus Frankowski. InfraDigrecords is deeply committed in the development of the Mexican and international artists music scene; since its beginnings the purpose has always been spreading not so conventional, top notch music, in charge of a group of selected artists: Alex Arnout & Pancho Piedra, Jay tripwire, James Teej, Paulo Olarte, Metrika, Jef K & Gwen Maze, Mobius Strum, Pablo Sanchez, Zeque, Jonathan Jou, Don KX, GOG, Signal Deluxe, Hurlee, Uriel E, Ivan Viña, Moreon & Baffa, Dirty Culture, Kindimmer, Noc · Turn and many more.

At the studio this year, Light has been at work bringing back the visionary ancestral side of global culture with Defanico. And several other projects on your own. 

As a producer he has released tracks and remixes on labels such as: Fade Records, Half Seas Over; has made remixes for Alex Arnout & Pancho Piedra, Ray Okpara, Rey Aguilar,  Mobius Strum, among others. He is one of few mexican artists that have remained active for three decades, and one of the first Mexican Djs playing in London, Ibiza, Miami, San Francisco, Buenos Aires and San Jose CR.
