This is the new EP 'Refraction' from Light Falls Forward, released in early June 2015. It's the first EP since the band moved from London to Bristol and the move has inspired a rockier folk sound, with edgier electric guitar, sweeping strings and driven vocals. Refraction is all about changing and moving on, letting go of ties that bind but not losing hold of your connection to the past.

Light Falls Forward are an acoustic folk act, formed by Charlie Evans and Naomi Paget. Their debut EP, Songs and Shadows, was released a few months after they met in 2012 and they have since taken their music far and wide with two European tours last years and several UK gigs from small folk venues to a 10,000 strong crowd at a family festival in Essex. 

Their music is intimate yet powerful, haunting yet uplifting, described by Tom Robinson on BBC6 radio as an “emotional cannonball”. They combine elements of Sharon van Etten, Laura Veirs, Feist and Elbow to create a sound that is organic and unique. Their new EP, Journey, marks a progression towards a fuller, more cinematic soundscape with strings playing a more prominent role and atmospheric lyrics drawing on the everyday challenges of life, on finding ways to fight them and moving forward.
