​Presenting flowstate 002 — our second voyage into the deep. 🪼

light gal returns with the next chapter of flowstate — a dark, immersive peak-time techno experience with an under the sea theme, hosted at The Green House Arches, E8 3RL, off of Forest Road Taproom & Bar — just 5 minutes’ walk from London Fields.

flowstate was born out of a desire to create more intimate peak-time techno spaces, and to champion FLINTA+ talent within the scene. This second edition features a secret lineup curated by light gal, to be revealed soon — alongside an open decks hour reserved for emerging artists.

Express yourself through costume or makeup inspired by our under the sea theme — the bolder, the better. Glow up and choose your character for the night! 🪼🦑🐠

flowstate operates a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment of any kind. Anyone found making others feel uncomfortable will be removed from the venue. If someone’s behaviour affects your experience, please speak to a member of our team — we’ll ensure it’s dealt with appropriately.

Accessibility ♿️
The Green House Arches is on the ground floor and is fully accessible. Wheelchair users should make themselves known to event staff, as when the shutters to the beer garden close later in the evening, staff will need to open them for safe access — the other exit has a step and is quite narrow.
There is a separate accessible unisex toilet available.
The stairs to the upper deck have 11 steps and currently have no bannister, so we advise anyone with mobility issues to stay on the lower levels, especially when alcohol is involved.

DERILIKT Techno 6

Transporting listeners away from whatever their situation is at this time, DERILIKT Techno, the series of dark and melodic techno mixes curated by light gal now welcomes its 7th edition. Since 2018, the DERILIKT Techno mix series has showcased artists from Enrico Sangiuliano, Joyhauser and Victor Ruiz to Kostas Maskalides, UMEK and OC & Verde.

This edition contains 10 stand-out tracks carefully selected and mixed by light gal. Thomas Schumacher and Victor Ruiz team up for a melodic masterpiece in ‘Intuit’, while ‘Acid Wall’ showcases A*S*Y*S at his uncompromising acid techno best. Get carried away with Jay Lumen’s hypnotic track ‘Razor’ and ANNA’s angular ‘Galactic Highways’ is sure to get you foot stomping. 

A DERILIKT Techno favourite ‘Cosmic Boys’ are back with their latest offering on UMEK’s 1605 label, ‘Paranormal’ and UMEK himself makes a hard-hitting appearance on this mix with his version of ‘Dreams’ by Quench.  

Two techno powerhouses Pleasurekraft & The YellowHeads team up to bring the cosmic ‘Prison Planet’ and record label OFF Recordings present the subtle ethereal sounds of Carl Haze and Mark Michael’s ‘Hologram’. 

Also featured is ‘Pursuit’ by Alex Stein -  the stand out track from his 2019 Rebirth EP. Finally, Some Me makes his first appearance in DERILIKT Techno with the track ‘On Fire’.

light gal is a rising star of London’s house and techno scene. Drawing influence from such labels as Terminal M, Drumcode, and Innervisions, as well listing DJs like Charlotte De Witte, Mha Iri and Massano as some of her many inspirations, light gal creates unique and exploratory sets ranging from dark and melodic to peak time techno. With appearances at across Ibiza, Florida as well as various venues accross London such as Ministry of Sound, Corsica Studios and Dalston Superstore, she is quickly emerging as a talent to watch.

Born in Surrey, one of her first introductions to dance music was during primary school, listening to compilations of Ibiza summer hits. She attended Reigate College, whose alumni include Disclosure and Fatboy Slim, and went on to study a Masters degree at the University of Bristol in Maths and Computer Science. It was here that her passion for the music was truly cemented, becoming a frequent visitor to legendary Bristol venues like Lakota, Motion, and Dojo Nightclub. After her studies, she moved back to Surrey, concentrating on her craft while working at the Academy of Contemporary Music.

She was first drawn to dance music through early underground dubstep from the likes of artists such as Plastician and Rusko. When the genre began to die down it opened her eyes to different sounds and styles, particularly house and techno. “The thing I love about the style of house I play is that everyone can be happy and dance along even if they don’t know the songs - it’s that sort of vibe. But with techno though, it’s the opposite. Dark, cold, industrial, yet melodic - but still stuff you can dance to!”

Light Gal kick-started her DJ career by performing in Ibiza over the Summer of 2017. During her time on the island, she performed at Ibiza Rocks and Hush nightclub, and was so well-received that she was invited back the following year. Since then, she has been busy - performing across London and establishing her own event ‘Minority Influence,’ which hopes to disprove the opinions and biases of people who consider the house and techno scene to be exclusively white and male, and looks forward to organising its next instalment soon. Between gigs, Light gal is currently curating DERILIKT Techno - a series of dark and melodic mixes, and the bi-annual Pure House Anthems, packed with UK House dance floor fillers.
