You've gotten quite good at blending quiet, subtle and tempered dynamics into work that's both beautiful, and alive with tension. Very nice, Gareth. Very nice indeed.

The piece "Pine" is an attempt to convey the peaceful and contemplative atmosphere I experience when I walk in the woods. It's not so much about having a defined melody or complex harmony, but more about creating a mood and an atmosphere.

As with my previous recordings, I've used my Malmsjö piano from 1911 to bring this piece to life. However, this time, I've added some felt effects to create a slightly altered sound that fits the overall mood of the composition.

In this piece, I've used felt to soften some of the sharpness of the notes, creating a more subtle and delicate sound that blends well with the theme of the piece.
