Lightproof are a rock band from Juneau, Alaska. With Dave Hurley on the kit, James Bibb on the low end, Luke Weld on keyboards, and Michael Samuels on guitar, Lightproof make rock centered music with a focus on rhythm, texture, and improvisation.

Lightproof got started with a craigslist post by Dave looking for musicians in Juneau. Michael answered, and within a few weeks they were jamming away bolstered by a shared love of noise-making and fermented grains. In few months, James showed up to anchor the sound with some ocean-deep bass. Months after that, improvisational jazz madman, Luke, answered the group's call for an harmonic explorer.

Lightproof are constantly looking for new ways to resolve the warmly familiar with the cold obtuse. What does that mean? Give the music a play and find out for yourself!
