We are back once again with the ill behavior. Soon to be legend and mix mistress behind the decks, LAALLS is constantly concocting, connecting genres, and creating dance floor mayhem from behind the decks. We are super fans and glad to have her as an LDL resident and the first DJ to crack our mix series wide open. Our good friend Adra has been collecting gear and slowly releasing black coated techno tunes out of San Francisco for a while now. She has DJ'ed for us a few times and to prepare for her up coming gig with Umfang and Volox in LA she decided to put together a little taste test for the uninitiated. And we are glad she did, taking us to the hypnotic dark side of things with tracks by Ancient Methods, Reeko, and Orphyx. Plug in.

John is an old and dear friend of ours here at Lights Down Low. He has been attending our parties since pretty much our inception and we actually had him perform live for our 4th anniversary party back in 2009. Since then John has shifted away from his live performances and emerged as an amazing up and coming DJ in the La scene. We’re honored to include him in our mix series ahead of his debut dj performance at Lights Down Low for our annual Halloween Rave to the Grave event.

California dance music institution Lights Down Low has been entertaining creatures of the night for over 10 years, throwing parties in the Bay Area, Los Angeles and beyond. What began as a tiny monthly party at the infamous 222 Hyde club in the Tenderloin has become a multi-­city enterprise dedicated to hedonism in all its glory. With non-stop parties in Los Angeles and San Francisco, all shape shifting and geared toward pure sonic satisfaction.   Richie Panic & Corey Sizemore are renowned for their eclectic DJing style and the same holds true for their bookings. 

“We only book the artists and sounds that we play and are fans of first and foremost.The artists that we find in our record bags and we want to bring to the sweaty masses” 

Lights Down Low has featured too many guests to count, but some notable acts include Simian Mobile Disco, Optimo, Four Tet, Barnt, Jackmaster, Volvox, Fatima Yamaha, Veronica Vasicka, Derrick Carter, Helena Hauff, Evian Christ, Josh Wink, Jennifer Cardine, DJ Stingray, Daniel Avery, Paranoid London, Erol Alkan, and Silent Servant.

Founders and resident DJs Corey Sizemore and Richie Panic both got their start in small venues, throwing intimate parties with wild vibes. Separately, each had a dedicated following of partygoers who trusted their taste and curation. Together though, the two have built Lights Down Low into a pure party institution that spans genres, cultures, crews, genders, and more. Everything Lights Down Low stands for, and everything Richie & Corey aim to do is done under the aegis of bringing people from across the dance music cultural spectrum together to rave on the same dance floor. “No limits, no boundaries, just dancing.”
