In the Possessed Undertale AU, multiple characters except for Frisk, Flowey, and Chara are possessed by characters from other games. This AU is what happens when someone takes save files from other games and puts them in Undertale.

In Toriel's case, she is possessed by Sarah Ericson from The White Chamber. Toriel retains a bit of sanity in this, but Sarah is the dominant persona and actually LETS frisk go through the exit of The Ruins without a battle. Toriel is first seen in this AU after an injured Frisk flees from Flowey after he acts like a cornered wild animal out of fear. After the assault, Toriel/Sarah takes Frisk back to the house in The Ruins where Frisk is cared for until he/she/it is fully healed.

Possessed AU: Toriel Theme

In Sans's case in the Possessed AU, he is possessed by Lines from Space Blaster. Unlike Toriel, Sans's original personality is completely gone. In its place is Lines's sullen personality. The new Sans still makes puns, but not as frequent as the original Sans makes them. The eye that glows is now colored red and crimson. Also, it would be advisable not to shake his hand, because if you do........ONE HEAD DOG COMIN' UP!

Possessed AU: Sans Theme

In Undyne's case in the Possessed AU, she is possessed by Johan Ross from SOMA. There are tendrils trailing out of the new Undyne's head, and they look similar to the ones seen with Johan Ross. The possessed Undyne believes that Frisk is the last fragment of the WAU, and believes that she must destroy Frisk to make sure the WAU stays dead. As Undyne chases Frisk through the Underground, she eventually comes to a halt when Alphys, not possessed yet, comes to Frisk's aid.

To me, HELP_tale's effects are actually the result of a computer virus restricted to a flash drive that was found in a storm drain and its contents emptied onto its finder's computer. It affects only the computer it is affecting, and can only be spread through the data being sent online, as with HELP_tale's ARG. Once all of the ITs have been separated, the virus moves from Undertale to Lomando.com. That's when the REAL nightmare fuel begins. With the virus affecting the website, all sorts of things go down. I'm busy working on a concept on what might happen, but if physically loaded, a beefy computer would be able to run the website without crashing and frying its hard drive.
