Recorded during our magical 4 years of Rotate event on June 9th at Club der Visionaere in Berlin.
Yuzo played the closing set in the morning hours from 6 till 10 am and this cut is from the last 2 hours of his set. 

We are honoured to share this recording with you and hope you enjoy this set as much as we did that special morning, where everyone was smiling, dancing & sharing the love for music.

Yuzo Iwata aka Fabio Lazaro is an electronic music DJ and producer from Japan.
Combining machine grooves reduced to the necessary minimum with a fine acid-inspired track selection, Yuzo carefully grasps the mood of the scene while delivering a deep and mind-expanding club experience.

Yuzo is originally from Saitama in Japan, born to a Cuban mother and Japanese father. He moved to Sapporo (Hokkaido, North Japan) in 2011, where he started to host a series of parties named FLOPPY in the legendary venue Precious Hall – with not only himself on the turntables but inviting guests such as Nicolas Lutz, Jan Krueger, Fred P, Moodman, DJ Masda and KABUTO – identifying Yuzo as valuable and passionate organizer and DJ in Sapporo’s music scene.

Throughout the years, Yuzo played regularly at major events throughout Japan, such as renowned underground parties Future Terror run by DJ Nobu, FLOWER CAMP, experimental RURAL, to just name a few. In 2016, Yuzo moved to Berlin.

Pluie/Noir’s close admiration for the land of the rising sun and its artists is not new. Having released two very solid EP’s from veterans Radiq and Fumiya Tanaka in the past, the imprint drives its attention to Japan once again, this time to showcase the work of the young and talented Berlin-based artist Yuzo Iwata.

Already established as a valuable and passionate organizer and DJ in Japan’s music scene, Yuzo’s ‘Kiteki EP’ is his first vinyl output after his move to Berlin, and a perfect showcase of his skills in story-telling, musical composition, and sonic wizardry. “True Story (Kyakushoku Mix)” (A1) is the EP’s melodic behemoth: spanning through all sorts of emotional states, ‘True Story’ is a piece that‘s as ‘cinematographic sci-fi’ as it is ‘early-morning club’, especially due to its very particular movement of tension and release. "Night Train" (B1) is the set piece of Yuzo’s story about locomotion: a hypnosis-inducing, constantly moving musical translation of a night-time train ride through Japan, with a dubby deep low-end that constantly reminds the listener to keep moving. ‘Ueno’ (B2) is the last track of the EP and also the name of a train station in Tokyo, which (not) coincidently is the last station from multiple regions in Japan since a long time. Here, like a chameleon, Yuzo shows his versatility as a producer capable of bending musical genres where groove and sonic engagement are key to success.

The release was visually interpreted by the Japanese painter Mamoru Kondo through a traditional and highly special technique of rock painting mixed with animal glue, translating Yuzo’s musical train into a unique graphical work.

Liiebermann is the production unit of K.Hamawaki (previously released on Fumiya Tanaka's Torema Records label) and Ko-Ta from Stratosphere.

Ko-Ta is influenced by old techno pop music like YMO, Kraftwerk and minimal techno like Jeff Mills and Basic Channel.
He started making his own music in 1991 and DJing in 1993 in Kushiro, Hokkaido. Ko-Ta established the minimal techno label Stratosphere in 1997. Stratosphere released 7 EPs especially for DJs. He now gets DJ offers from all over Japan.

K.Hamawaki fell into minimal music such as Jeff Mills and Basic Channel. He started as a DJ / producer when he was 15 years old in Hiroshima. K.Hamawaki contacted Ko-Ta in 2001. Ko-Ta was deeply impressed with K.Hamawaki's tracks and decided to release from Stratosphere. Also K.Hamawaki released a track from Fumiya Tanaka's Torema Record in 2006.

Liibermann started in January, 2008.
Ko-Ta and K.Hamawaki work together from Kushiro, Hokkaido and Tokyo.
