Mask’ay is a rediscovering city sounds project created by Lunate, Carlos Hurtado -ex Colombian Red bull Music Academy Alumnis and Giancarlo Orsi, one of the most extraordinary visual artists in Colombia today. Mask’ay means researcher in a local traditional language. They’ve travelled to Cali, Bucaramanga, Piedecuesta and Bogota -main cities in Colombia- to meet and join the music masterminds behind those cities. Jacobo Velez (Cali), Edson Velandia (Bucaramanga/Piedecuesta) and Mauricio Garcia (Bogota) were the hosts that shows them how it really sounds their towns. After the journey, Mask’ay produced an EP of four tracks and a Live show that was showcased in Sónar Festival Colombia 2017. “Rito Macua”, “Selva”, “2600” and “Aide” are the result of this beautiful trip and soundtrack.
