This is certainly my most labor-intensive composition to date and it required an insane amount of work for months on end. At the time, it wasn't uncommon for me to spend the whole night to create just 5 seconds of music. The Ableton Live screen for this song shows an equally peculiar view -- large amounts of micro-samples lined up one after the other, corresponding to individual notes that had their durations and pitches meticulously altered. 

In fact, samples of real instruments were previously chopped up almost note by note and some of these pieces were picked out and lined up on another Ableton audio track. In this way, the brass sections were created very slowly and in a totally experimental manner.

The title is a naughty joke about an unusual situation I went through. While I was working on the track, I sent a message to a musician I admire, highly praising his work and style, and also asking if he would like to take part in a collab. The answer came back with just one word: “no”. Well, I couldn't help but make fun of the whole situation and the title of the song came naturally... lol 🤣

The main influence for this experimental song is the work of Hoyt Curtin and his best-known score, the opening and closing themes of the 1960s cartoon Jonny Quest, aired by Hanna-Barbera Studios (my all-time favorite cartoon).

A funny track about some discussions on Twitter/X lately, it's frankly on the weirder side like Word Salad and Yes-No Column, Come To Life!

But after hearing it multiple times (like most of my things) it improves.

I was lost in thought staring at the shininess of her boot
Musing that the first step of any meaningful pursuit
Is to severely underestimate its difficulty

The one-night stand sarcastically complimented me on my range
I said you were the one to talk
But then she recommended as a dietary change
Brazilian Quinoa and Equatorial Donkey Chalk

She was quite amazing wearing fishnets
But when her lasciviousness needed satiating
Nothing quite got her wet like contemplating
Malicious compliance to get the idiots and shills upset

As i got older the fatter became my manila folder
I wondered if she'd gone too far
When she was grinding to WAP in a bar
Then berating me for touching her on the shoulder

The root of their lawfully sanctioned insurgency
Was a deeply felt need of urgency
Their transgressions begat the need to talk sense
But either they were in denial or awfully dense
Like Private Pyle they were too fat to climb over Chesterton's fence

The libertarian drew back agape as I was seized by
Poetic demons, my tongue unbound by whimsy’s cry  

Now peep their quisquilian rout, all clowned in disarray
A pox of poltroons, too shook to gainsay
Brains so obtund, they’d quaff their own toxic drip,
I smack their feckless rebellion with truculence no slip
And big up the gibbet that cancels their weak-ass affray

She smirked, Thy florid rant doth vex me sore,
A bard’s bombast best left to yore’s grim lore

Thus spake Hesiod, neath Boeotia’s dour sky 
Shun maids who cozen with a venal eye
For when iron reigns and kine grow gaunt with blight
Avaunt their guile, lest chaos claim the night
