Launch Base Act 1 - Sonic Hysteria OST

Wasn't planning on uploading this yet, but I'm in a really good mood today.

Produced in Propellorhead Reason 9.

You Can Do Anything / Green Hills Zone [Sonic 2 GG]

My submission for the first round of SHC's Mega Drive Music Contest!

The prompt for this round was to doll up a track in Sonic 3 that was changed for the Origins collection, and though I had done a couple already (Launch Base and Super Sonic say hi!), there were rules against submitting past works, so I opted to choose Ice Cap Zone.

Now for this one, I tried to maintain a level of high energy all throughout, since the zone still opens up with Sonic snowboarding down a mountain, and the original proto track comes off super unfitting in that context (I even played the track alongside footage from the game to make sure it felt right). I also added some original stuff after the B-section to break the repetition of having the same two chords over and over.

The thumbnail was actually meant to be a placeholder (I think it was one of the only Wario images in the folder I was looking at), but then I realized it's actually perfect for the subject matter.

Wario's Ultimatum

I really pushed myself this time! I wanted to go back and clean up a few songs because I have plans to release a demo for Sonic 3 AIR very soon! I seriously don't think I could be happier with how this turned out! I wanted to go out of my comfort zone and adress some of my weaknesses as a composer, ESPECIALLY when it came to mixing, which is honestly my worst nightmare lol. So I kept adding and changing things until I couldn't figure out what to do with it. I did things I have never even thought to try before untill I ended up with something perfect, or at least in my opinion! 

This is still my favorite song in the OST, and even more so now. I hope to inspire others to push themselves in their oassions just as I'm doing. It is so worth it.
