This year, STiRTy decided to take our annual Scorpio celebration back to it's underground roots and throw this party proper in an insane Oakland basement space.  This set was an introduction to something bigger and better from FnF's Ethan Miller and it was an honor to warm up the decks for such an iconic DJ.  With plenty of inspiration drawn from my surroundings and those lovelies on the dance floor, here we go with this nonstop bumpin' tech'd out set that I like to call "inhale."

Celebrating 50 yrs in the most kickass way...surrounded by friends & family who mean everything to me. This was a movement on so many levels...connections revisited and music that evokes emotion.  I was born in the city of Oakland and 50 yrs later, I wanted to throw down in the city of Oakland.  Thank you to all the volunteers and the owners/management team of the Tow Yard for making this event possible.  This was a 12 hr DJ marathon stacked with my favorite artists representing STiRTy like no other.  This set is a perfect reflection of who I am as I take you on a fun journey through some of my genre faves featuring tech house, minimal,  breaks, and indie pop mashups.

During the Easter weekend, we celebrated two amazing ladies as they shared FIFTY laps around the sun.  Music and connections were inspired by nature and the beauty that is the Oakland Hills.  While friends chatted and kids played in the field, I took to the decks and played some daytime fun n' happy tunes.  It all just came together and it felt so right.  HBD!

I recorded this set last year but never released it to the public.  I am reminded of you Bess, in so many facets of life.  I hit the "play" button and a surge of emotions follow.  It's been a healing journey for me and especially since I recently lost my father, the connection to music has been even stronger.  The power of a melody speaks volumes as it touches the heart. I am dedicating this to all lives lost too soon.

A once in lifetime opportunity to share who I am through melodies and beats.  Every track represents who I am and my old school influences.  Music fills my inner core and the moment I step behind the decks, I am ready to soar.

This was my 1st time attending Joshua Tree Music Festival and it exceeded my expectations.  All the efforts come to fruition as displayed in the art, wellness, and musicality of this family-friendly desert adventure.  I fell in love with the organic warmth and intimacy that brought the Boogaloo Stage to life.  I was slotted a 2 hour set to close out Friday night and it was my time to express myself.

The amount of support from my Bay Area community and friends of decades past, was very humbling.  The moment I stepped up on that platform and saw the outdoor space filled with 360 degrees of revelers and smiles...I knew this was going to be a defining moment.

So much appreciation to Renee Young for believing in me and to Barnett English for his vision to embody that true independent music festival spirit and giving me the opportunity to shine. I did not know what I was capable of until I stepped onto that stage and felt the energy pulsing all around me.  

An epic moment that came together so perfectly where sounds were finely tuned and people were ready to receive.  Every track felt right and the nerves just melted away.  It magical and pure bliss.  This is dedicated to all my friends n' family who supported my love for music and to anyone who is ready to hear my story.

Perched atop a hillside in Sonoma country, inspired by autumn leaves of golden hues, rolling vineyards, and converted horse stables, it was a perfect day for a wedding and a union of 2 of my very close friends.  How often do I get to be thee wedding DJ?  Not my usual thing but built with love and giddy anticipation from a perfect collaboration of minds.  The juice kept flowing, the groove kept pounding...every track selected to stomp a lasting impression on their faces...smiles for miles, and dancefloor mutation!  I wanted to tap into that childhood phenomenon and bring out the unified singing and celebration.  It was like karaoke and fist pumping at its best.  Made for memories and not for cleanliness =)

Merry Chrismix

It's been many, many years and I have yet to put out a mix publicly.  I am my worst critic but many people have asked and I can't keep stalling.  My good friend said to me today "just record and send it".... so I am.

This set in particular was Inspired by so many people...friends, family, coworkers, new faces...all those that jumped with me on my musical trip!   A BIG thank you to those who came out to celebrate my birthday this year at our annual SCORPI-OH event.  It was truly a feel-good moment and I wanted to be able to capture that again in these rich n' bouncy tech tracks.  This is the true story of how I felt at that moment in my life and I hope that it touches you, makes your day a little brighter, and maybe infects you with a little head-jerkin.  

That would be pretty dope.

This was a tough set to put together as it jumps through genres and generations while covering a wide BPM range.  It displays a variety of emotions that I've experienced throughout my 2017 year, and as I reflect on my memories with some fave throwbacks.  I am thankful for how music makes me feel, where it's taken me, and where I'm headed.  I owe even greater appreciation to those who support me unconditionally.  My intent is to make you feel a level of warmth and smile just a bit more.

We just finished setting up camp by the lake, perched @ 8000 ft. atop massive granite rocks, and just taking it all in.  It was time to let loose and celebrate summer properly. Lil' chris is a product of the influential 80s.  The early exposure of B-boys, street battles, freestyle, and hip-hop culture cultivated the dancer within and the daily obsession to record live radio DJ sets on cassette tapes.  

Borrowing two turntables, a mixer, and two crates of vinyl, helped to hone her mixing skills while in college. The rising popularity of the underground electronic music scene forever changed the journey that she took alongside her best friend, Christine.  A collaborative female DJ duo, known as Joint Sessions was born. 

"Chris & Chris" played alongside iconic names such as Donald Glaude, Joey Mazzola, Ellen Ferrato, and Dave Coleman & Sen-sei as well as guest spots on LIVE 105 Subsonic show.  They maintained frequent rotations at some of SFs most notable clubs/bars - 1015 Folsom, Kelly's Mission Rock, The End Up, Butter, Wish bar, Snowdrift, 111 Minna, and Mighty - as well as invitations to SFs Black & White Ball, Beats for Boobs Fundraiser, and local renowned campouts such as Strategik and FnF.

In the year 2010, lil' chris co-founded a local DJ collective, STiRTy, known for creating a dynamic atmosphere on the dancefloor, with a sub-genre focus on house, progressive, breaks, and techno blends.  Resident DJs include Trev, O'Henry, Raydeus, CaseyDC, Rizen, and new talents Alcazar and The Getdown. STiRTy collaborated with a strong community of friends and hosted an annual summer campout for 13+ years, known as BoomBoomWoods (BBW). 

Lil' chris exemplifies a unique style in her passion for connection with a diverse audience.  It is this groove theory that makes her infectious and unstoppable.
