Heart Cut - by Lil' Minx

Fourth Track. I return to the energy of Clean Cut, which i thought was fresh. This track kicks off with a fat Moog, but quickly lightens up with some hi's and shakers. After the scrambling and pounding you'll find some breathing time before it drops you in a combined build up of earlier sounds, dragging the Phat Cat along to the end.

This is my first quick mix with Ableton. Mixing is done with only a simple rack of EQ, Filter, Multi Compressor and Limiter. Warping went pretty smooth - but not yet mastered to perfection. Ah well, it was lots of fun anyway. The mix starts with my own track: Clean Cut (remastered). Enjoy!

Second mix - This time my goal was to keep 2 or 3 tracks buzzing at the same time, for as long as possible. Warping went quite good this time. I tried to use a few tracks that are hard to pin down. But with some cutting, stitching, FX's and bold persistence... i think i almost nailed it! First track is mine: Short Cut. Enjoy!

Third Mix - Turned out to be a dynamic one. First track is a remake of HeartCut. Then i combined tracks with different grooves. Some more square and bold, others rhythmic and playful. Also more practice on keeping some energy tension in the breakdowns and creating explosive moments by layering and timing tracks throughout the mix. Loved it - hope you will to!

On this page you'll find the productions, mixes and remixes of Lil' Minx - my musical alias.

After feeling the love for electronic music ever since my first 'synthesizer greatest' tapes in the late '80s, being a request DJ at the local hangout and scouting for hardcore vinyl in the '90s, trying (and failing) to control my equipment in the '00s and fist-pumping to a lot of great techno tracks for the last couple of years,... finally i got my act together and pushed the ambition to play around with music myself.

Over 20 years of electronic love combined with the musical influences from the typical 'Rotterdam school'   of hardcore and techno resulted in a industrial, rhythmic and clean sound that defines my style. 

I'm exited to see in which direction the productions will go creatively, in energy and in quality.
