Our 23rd podcast is a live-rec of Vitalinar's performance at the Alt event. This is an experimental sound project by Vitalina Strekalova, a resident of the community soundartist.ru. She prefers to work with noise and rhythmic structures, someone else's voice and found recordings.

The scarlet disk of setting sun dissolves in a sea surface. You’re feeling in your right hand a pleasant heaviness of the beer glass. This local one is bitter, not like ours. You’re still diving deep your moustache into a beer foam. Breeze is blowing. You’re button up your stylish Yugoslavian-made shirt. There is a smell of cypresses and fried fish. You’re looking at a snow-white boat riding along the deserted pebble beach. There is a song in an unknown language heard from a disco. Damn, how good it is! You’re starting to humming it with your eyes closed. You’re suddenly transforming from the Sergei Nikolaevich Zhgutov, engineer of the Lubovitch’s transistor plant, into a mole on the cheek of your wife, into a half-eaten vegetable salad of your son, into a cypress at the hotel "Volna», into a boat riding through the sea waves, into a very smooth rock on the beach, into a cigarette butt under this stone. It is nice.

We invite everyone who dared to try such an experience, even if you are not an engineer Zhgutov who received a trip ticket to a sanatorium near the sea, to test themselves with the Emberche’s mix for 5/8 : radio. You can expect a round dance of exotic pop music from the 70s, 80s and even 90s, modern folktronics, and other auditory surprises. As you begin to listen to it, close your eyes, and then we no longer guarantee that you will end this journey by yourself, and not by a completely different entity, like a nail file or a cup with a cold tea.

I first came across this young and talented Irish producer last year via his dub-infused wave music EP "Dyslexia Sound System" on Touch Sensitive Records. Eight tracks that ticked all the boxes for me: mutant rhythms, guitar feedback, echo-filled vocal, and fat mono-synth bass lines? I'm in! Want more? Check his stuff out on other top labels like Downwards, Death & Leisure, Opal Tapes, or Veyl.

But hey, Autumns' TANZEN mix is nothing like that huh, the premise of this guest mix is asking the artist to give us their interpretations of dance music, and "allowing" them to play whatever they want, no need to beat match and it does not need to be strictly electronic music (there's plenty of that out there already).
