Song note: Originally started as a vocal exercise to open up the higher register and push the bar a bit. I squeaked out a high C#, but I wouldn't call it musical. Still, highest-pitched sound I've made in probably 20 years. So that's cool. *shrugs* Lyrics inspired by the Whip-poor-will bird that is frequently heard, but not as easily seen due to its camouflage abilities.

Yo No Quiero Que Te Vayas - Pinceles Violentos

A wintery song that came out of a songwriting challenge to write a verse (or chorus) a day for a month. This one clearly originates from the one week of snow and ice we had this year. It's also the biggest I have ever gone (and probably ever will) on reverb. Cover photo (which inspired the first line) by Thomas Binns @theguitarsocial.

Silhouettes of leafless branches against a sky of grey
Pirouettes of breathless dancers, spinning across the lake
Snowmen watching from a distance, safe upon the shore
Pondering their strange existence, cold into the core.

Chorus
Snowflakes are falling now like feathers
So innocent, delicate and white
Moonlight is crawling out of the shadows
Guiding the ghosts of winter through the night.

Snowed in huts so far away with jangling icicles
Tiny footprints gone astray, abandoned bicycles.
Frozen rivers waiting for the sun to set them free,
Snowmen shiver while they can with quiet dignity.

Tiny crystal jewels still embellishing the air,
