Premiere: Franky Rizardo - Revoke

With a knack for creating tracks that not only work well on the dancefloor, but also last long after the release cycle, the mighty Shiba San returns to Dirtybird with two unique bangers you won’t soon forget. 

Leading off the release, “Don’t Talk” doesn’t need a vocal to say something. Shiba uses rhythms, beats, reverb and pitch to create an oddball, attention-grabbing techno track that is sure to be around for ages.

A mosquito alarm emits a high frequency sound that can be heard by bugs and dogs. But the heavy low end bass on Shiba’s second track “Moskito”, has the exact opposite effect and attracts ravers from miles around to the dance floor.

It’s only been one year since Ireland’s Rebuke put out his first release, yet his original sound has already catapulted him to the top of the class, and he makes his debut on Dirtybird with a two track EP, “Jump Ship”. 

The unique way Rebuke uses percussion alongside rolling bass and 90’s-era stabs on “Jump Ship” immediately grabbed our attention, and the cascading drums over the big bottom bass of “The Pipe” is a striking piece of music that won’t go unnoticed in any set.

“Every time I play Cour T.’s “Black Magic” the room changes. The entire vibe of the party goes from hands in the air to grinding, sexual energy. This track has arcane properties on the dance floor. I wish I had 10 tracks with this vibe because nothing else sounds like it and when I play it, I always wish I could keep the vibe for longer. Selfishly, I asked our label manager to hold back this track for 6 extra months just so I could have it all to myself. That’s how much I’m into it. Dutch sensation Franky Rizardo makes his welcome return to Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records this month with his brand new ‘Hypno’ EP. Franky has proven himself as one of Holland’s finest exports in House music, demonstrating a solid production career with releases on some of the most respected labels in the industry including 8bit, Rejected, Stereo, Toolroom and own imprint, FLOW, as well as continuing to push himself as a DJ with a distinctive style that works across the big stages and packed out clubs alike. Title track, ‘Hypno’, kicks things off with chunky drums, hip swinging claps, exciting synth transitions and complex percussive rhythms. ‘Acid Rain’ completes the EP with bouncing acid bass, shuffling hats, perky snares, exciting synth transitions and crisply mixed percussion paired with a pulsating low-end.

For the next release on the unrelenting and genre pushing Hot Creations imprint, musical masterminds Skream and Tom Demac join forces for the first time to deliver the electro bomb EMF. Label head Jamie Jones offers yet another standout rework to add to his ever-expanding catalogue.

Breakbeat rhythms and a pounding bass kick off proceedings as the track unfurls with dramatic synths that culminate in an epic build up, dropping into the intricate electro melody. Jamie provides a mammoth rework as he steers the original into the realm of house. Holding onto the core elements, he adds his signature stamp with an unmistakable bassline.

As one of the UK’s best-loved selectors Skream’s early origins can be found in dubstep before he made a transition into disco, house and techno. In November 2013 he unveiled his new label, Of Unsound Mind and has been signed to a variety of labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Objectivity and We Are The Brave. He’s also produced a constant flow of remixes for labels like Warner, FFRR, Sony, Hot Creations, Watergate and VIVa. Parallel to these pivotal releases he also showcased his eclectic tastes at his Skreamizm parties across the UK and the rest of the world.

North Wales native Tom Demac first came to attention via his own Electronique Audio imprint in 2004 but it’s his affiliation with Hypercolour that really kick started his ascension to being a global force within the house and techno scene. His passion for performing live has seen him play from DC10 to Freerotation. He’s also released on a number of labels including a collaboration with Duncan Jones of Silverclub and an EP on Kompakt with Real Lies.

We always appreciate artists that have their own signature sound. Shaded’s music fits in that category - fast-paced and multicolored, it blurs a line between techno and house, but always intriguing. With support ranging from Jamie Jones to John Digweed, Tiga to Christian Smith, and DJ Hell to The Martinez Brothers, Shaded adds to his rich discography with his Dirtybird EP, “Holla Acha Boy”.

Resident selector and beat machine King-D is up to his usual tricks on his latest EP 'Control Panel'. Leading the release is a modular & acidic rhythm topped off perfectly with a dance floor focused vocal sample. The B-Side also makes use of an effective vocal sample this time infusing deep and glitching synths which create the distinctive sound King-D has been developing in his productions. A great offering to the label and sign of more to come from this fast rising artist.
