The long stretch, the hard knock, dusky road.
Selfish hands and jaw come crashing.
Round bend and gravel languid lane.
Slate and shale and brittle bits.

Of rock like bone flakes.
Beast this breast plate of a road.
Either side and sideways.
Among the matchstick telegraph poles.
Eyelids blink. Wide in a search for colour.
In this colourless land.
A pink speck, a blue smidgeon
A mild belated downpour of white.
A clutch of thistles, a spike of yellow.
 


Away a twisted bridge slopes.
Gnarled and tarnished rust
Like teeth un kissed or streambed dried and died.
The back of heads and split ends.
Hair combed and the thoughts it hides.
Flashes of mind in foreign languages.
Skitting via neurons like eels
In the silence of dark caves.
Flashes of phosphor on the surface.
Of cells buried in head rests.
Unnatural piles of stones, litter
Grey and smooth of purposeful intent.
When you have forever and sand is your goal.
A roadside sign points both ways.
Directions and distance
Both useless to the blind.
In this cold and miserable scrub.

a caravan goes by, the other way.
Pulled by some thug.
A snail home for a timid crew.

My chin is sore and corrupted.
By poisons and fungi.
I search the horizon.
For doctors and bush medicine. Poultice brew.
Witch craft of healing hands.
My lips are cracked and cleft.
Palette dry from too many days in a sun,
Without water or ozone layer.
You corporation corrupt fucks.
Making all our lives a misery.
For cash and trinkets in store houses.



Tall trees and brown picnic tables.
Under senteenial power pylons chrome.
An orange flag on the back of a bike.
Pedal pushed by gawping geek under helmet.
I drink branded brew.

The puzzlement of a massive boulder,
