JaMuary 24- the aim to create a piece of music (no matter how short or incomplete it is) for as many days as I can during the month.

Today's one (3rd January) was mostly finished in one day.... I got a bit immersed in it ( phew!)! My learning aim for this piece was using distortion ( you van hear it in the lead melodies. crackling away and creating ambience

Stretching ahead -
the straight road,
loneliness.

A wandering poet and ascetic Zen priest, Santōka was a disciple of Ogiwara Seisensui, one of the first poets to discard the traditional use of the 5-7-5 structure in haiku.

Santōka’s poetry emphasizes the necessity of sabi (solitude) in order to achieve spiritual enlightenment and serenity.

the yellow sun haze.
cardboard cut-out mountains green.
cloud headed, wispy and surreal,
pines silhouetted on blue

this love plays,
around me woman cackles and chatter
heading away from everything good.
layabout and lazy lines. 
of hedge.
and wire.

i've been meaning to contemplate
but it's all too late.
and i feel so tiny,
before gods and their awesome mountains

their rivers and lay-line tears.
the sky has darkened,
like my blue eyes gone blank.
while the scrubby bush and cinder heath
is a reminder.
That the heart is flimsy and trite . . . 

A white duck and a black duck,
Stand side by saluting side, greyly green.
Keeping watch for Armageddon.
rising over the pond.
There is nothing new in sparrows.
Hunting over an empty field
Where the corn rolls stand
Like chequers on a bars side stool.

A yellow rusted machine,
Stands abandoned on a dusty verge.
Like my heart and it’s dreams

Amid desolate and desperate youth.
A blood red square sequined
Upon a white stick, 
here and there.
This road is oh so neatly segmented.

The gorge, the canyon, the valley.
In which we glide.
