When Vlad was released from the Ottomans, He wandered around the bordering parts of Wallachia for eight years looking for support. It is known that during this time, he contacted his cousin Stephen the Great of Moldavia, who would help him in the future against the Turks when the latter became voivode of his country. He also learned various politico-military tactics.

Vlad eventually made it to Hungaria and was at the court of John Hunyadi, who, impressed by his knowledge of the Turks and his hatred of the Turkish Sultan Mehmed II, made Vlad defender of Transylvania with headquarters at Sibiu. In 1456, Hunyadi invaded Serbia, while Vlad simultaneously invaded Wallachia. He led his army through the Carpathians in June and by the end of July, Vladislav Danesti was killed in battle. According to legend, he was hacked to death in a hand-to-hand combat with Vlad Dracula. On August 22, 1456, Vlad was ruler in Tirgoviste.

The first thing he did when he took power was to take revenge on the murderers of his family. Early in his reign, he gave a feast for his boyars and their families to celebrate Easter. Since many of them had taken part in the conspiracy that led to the deaths of his father and elder brother, Vlad asked them how many voivodes had ruled during their lifetimes. All of the nobles said they had outlived several voivodes. The older boyars and their families were impaled on the spot, while the younger and healthier boyars were enslaved and forced to labor for months building Poenari Castle. Very few of them survived the ordeal.

One boyar, Albu cel Mare, was over-mighty and arrogant. He took the villages of Glodul and Hintea by force, and devastated the monastery of Govora. Vlad had him and his allies and relations, including small children, impaled. Of the 13 names of the boyars of the council of April 16, 1457, only 2 remained in February 10, 1461.

the alternative to silence... 
a larger description ... I'm a home recorder.. bought a zoom r24 and I love it. got a bunch of guitars but the prs is the one .. some of the early stuff is on the strat but once I got the prs it's been my choice... not this but other tunes have the steel string yamaha. so basically my formula is take a drum beat most of the time and see what happens. I also have a yamaha organ that makes all kinds of sounds.
