Live From We Are Open At Trix With NAH | 09-02-24

"La Llorona," which translates to "The Weeping Woman" in English, is a famous Mexican legend that has been passed down for generations. The story varies across different regions of Latin America, but the basic narrative typically involves a woman who drowns her children in a fit of madness or jealousy and then is condemned to wander, weeping for her lost children, for eternity.

According to the legend, La Llorona is often heard crying by rivers, lakes, or other bodies of water, mourning her children and searching for them. Some versions of the story depict her as a malevolent spirit who kidnaps or harms children who are out alone at night, mistaking them for her own.

The tale of La Llorona has been adapted into various forms of media, including films, books, plays, and music. It continues to be a prominent part of Mexican folklore and serves as a cautionary tale for children.
