Chorus Broadcast 1 *Cough* no, sorry... number 38, comes 5 years late from nobody other than Sofi! Yes that's right, Sofi was supposed to be our first contribution to the series which didn't actually happen... Time flies when you're having fun right? All jokes aside, Sofi delivers us a beautifully curated hour of deep, atmospheric techno, an essential soundtrack for intergalactic travel or just a simple midnight trip to Tesco... let's go!!

Earning her stripes in the Leeds underground, Sofi played a key part in retaining the cities small techno scene. Piloting the successful night 'Signals' at Mint Warehouse, she's brought an array of talent to masses including DJ Stingray, Zenker Brothers & DJ Bone to name a few. Alongside this she was quickly established as a mainstay line-ups throughout the city, before recently making the move to London to explore pastures new.  

The last few years have seen Sofi cover ground from London to Berlin, becoming a frequent face at the infamous Torture Garden, where you can indulge in her extended sets that contrast the gritty and groovy with the smooth and sexy…

@sammy-rowland1 is a London based producer primarily known for his high-energy melodic house tracks. His background of being a DJ and curator of parties in Leeds for almost a decade, has provided a rich and immersive musical environment, fostering an eclectic taste that is reflected in his productions.

Rowland creates a range of electronic and dance music spanning house, breakbeat, acid, downtempo, and beyond with a core focus on deep and expansive melodies and driving rhythms, which has been showcased on labels across Europe.

Revamp Podcast 017 - Mezla

WE'RE BACK! The first broadcast of 2021 comes from Leeds local and versatile selector, Mezla. You might recognise him from the legendary Leeds function, 'Distrikt', where he resides as their in-house events planner. In addition to this Mezla also add's the holy trinity of titles to his name as an avid DJ, Producer and Promoter. Co-founding popular Leeds based club night Limit, which as of recent, just celebrated their 5th year in the scene.

Taking a step away from his usual sound, Mezla delivers some darker cuts from his collection, giving us an hour and a half of freaky and funky techno.

BIO:
Mezla is an underground DJ, resident and curator for the established club night Limit, LWR in collab with Revamp and Walking Through Sound, and events planner and booker for Distrikt club in Leeds.

In the short 5 years he has been djing, he has built a solid name for himself and his brand Limit, through a keen eye to detail and curation of parties and bringing a high energy ride to every night and set put in front of him. His sets usually weave between different realms of house & techno, breaks, acid, leftfield, garage, disco, italo to slow chuggers and trippy rave music. His versatility is unmatched by few and this shows given the range of huge international DJs he has supported through Limit and other shows up and down the country. 

For over 3 years Limit has been a regular fixture at El Dorado Festival, Inner City Electronic Festival and The Garden Party, including sets at Annie Macs Tour, Mint Festival. Noteable artists to have played with Mezla include Dan Ghenacia, Sonja Moonear, Axel Boman, Lauer, Leon Vynehall,  Roman Flugel, Denis Sulta, James Zabiela, Saoirse, Jasper James & Many More.

With the release of his first EP with Sammy (Rowland) receiving great response and hype, this is just the start for mezla journey with a 2nd EP on the way and tons of personal projects in the works to explore the different styles he creates. plus huge shows still to come in the new year with limit and elsewhere.
